  1. I've ordered and made a few indoors with flash test with the 18-55 IS. I've already got the 17-55 and was looking for a smaller/lighter zoom.

When i read the photozone and slrgear.com, i was expecting quite similar IQ at the sames apertures. At the first glance, for the few shots i've taken, the zoom is very good but does not provide the "pop" effect of the 17-55.

I will keep you informed when i'll time to make any full comparisons.

    Regards

  3. What are the common used prices of Bessa R, Canon P ?

By the way, does the magnification of the viewfinder change as you select another focal or just the borders mask changes ?

For instance on the R4 the 21(/35), 28, (25/50) mm, does the magnification factor is always .52 for 21, 28 and 25 or just for 21mm ?

  4. I've tested the MF projection with a "good" rollei projectors (prime lens). I love 35mm slides and we give me Hasselblad good slides to test MF projection. Honesty, i was disappointed. I found the IQ was not how i imagined it could be. I've resold the projectors and stick on standard 35mm leica + colorplan.
  5. The problem of a APS is i will have to buy an 'expensive' 17-55 (compared to a 24-105 for instance, 600 euro in a kit) that does not make the APS so cheap and for which the used value is at my opinion less than a L FF lens.

I have also primes that will not fully keep their real value on APS. In the future, if Zeiss will release ZEOS mounts, they'll take their value on a FF i guess.

EOS 5 with in the kit version is sold in serious online shops at 2,600 Eur (with a 24-105) and 2,000 for just the body.

  6. Hello,

I come from slides and am a serious amateur. I'm to go to digital.

    I own an EOS 300 with Canon 28/2.8 + 50/1.8 and Sigma 105 EX/2.8 macro. I also

    have a 420EX flash.

I can afford a 5D with 24-105 and to keep my primes or i could also take a 400D

+ 17-55/2.8. I can afford the 5D kit but i have some scruples to spend

approximately 2,500 euro in a such kit.

My main purpose is family/children pictures and some landscape. Since the first

digital SLR i was waiting for a affordable 24x36 and i planned to use it in the

    future with my primes.

By reading many articles and because the 24-105 in the 5D kit is only 600 euro,

i decided to make the try and eventually resale the 24-105 is i prefer to keep

on my primes. Finally, i though i can have the same reasoning if i buy a 17-55

EFS with a basic but good body as a 400D.

I don't need big frame rate so my first goal is image and i try to make my mind

beetween those both configuration. I've read the articles i've found about this

on this forum and elsewhere but peoples were not necessary in the same

situation or would have the same needs.

So, i will be please to get your comments and especially from folks that have

been able to compare those kinds of configuration.

Thank you in advance for your comments.
