hi!
i own the kata 3N1-20 backpack, and there is plenty space in it for my 5d2 and 70-200 f/4 L mounted plus 17-40L, 100mm macro and my tamron 28-75. ok the tamron is smaller than the canon 24-70 but even so, there is no problem. i even chekked it once again for you and took a photo ( i try to attach it if i can).( on the photo you can see my 70-200 f/4 on the eos 33 because i needed the 5d mk2 for taking the photo ). on the upper compartment you can put the flash if you want. if you look at the picture note that the other 3 lenses mentioned are inside the bag, placed in the smaller compartments.
thanks for your answers.
Ross: thats it, i wanted to hear if is there a difference between them.
Mark:the corners of this photo are really mushy, very similar to my tokina, but tokina makes it in a bigger portion, not just the top of the corners. yes, i adjusted the CA, this is not a big problem, vignetting is also not a big problem, but these loss of details and distortion in the corners. but it seems that FF+17-40 did it too, not that bad but blurry too. usually i didnt use the hood, but my problems are not caused by flaring. i know that polarizers affect a little bit the IQ but i need them anyway and think that the tamron 28-75 has a polarizer too, every time, and no problems. the nikon 14-24 - an excellent lens, but my opinion is that this lens is not designed for landscapes, too vulnerable for a mountain hike and no filters - forget about it. maybe a nikon FF body with the nikkor 17-35mm f 2,8 gives better corners?
so, do you think with this tokina 11-16 will i get similar results as the 5D + 17-40 L ? i dont think so but its possible. did anyone tried it?
Peter: i didnt used yet the canon 10-22 but after the tests i saw, its IQ seem to be worse than tokina 12-24 .

Hello!
i use an EOS 400D with a Tokina 12-24mm lens for landscepes. in almost all
situations i use small apertures, tripod, and C-PL filter. i am not really
satisfied with the image quality (CA in corners, contrast and color , soft
corners). i also use a tamron 28-75mm f 2,8, and its IQ is much-much better. i'd
like to have the same (or better) IQ, in ultra- wide angle range. this tokina is
one of the best crop factor UWA lens, the other ones seem to be not
significantly better.
i thought the solution is a full frame camera (EOS 5D) with the 17-40 L lens. my
question is that does anyone compared directly these systems (FF vs. crop factor
bodies , in ultra wide angle range). is there a significant difference in image
quality?

To Mark U : you said 17-40L on FF is rather quite good than stellar, but im curious how is it compared to a tokina 12-24 or sigma 10-22 on a 40D ? on the other hand, is there an UWA lens for FF body that gives "stellar" image quality?

thanx for your help! it was very useful.

Hi!
i use my tokina 12-24mm lens (with EOS 400D) for landscape photography, and i
would like to use circular polarizer filter and a gradual filter too, so, to use
them together, but the big problem is the vignetting in the corners of the
image, because two filters frame are too thick for the wide angle lens. what is
the solution?
-the Cokin system, with square filters (can i use the CPL and gradual together??)
-or a step-up ring from 77 (this is the tokinas filter size) to 82mm, using two
82mm filters?
i also welcome any other suggestions.
How would you improve the 5D Mark II?
in Canon EOS Mount

i would categorize my demands on 2 groups:
the first group contain the very important ones:

1. weather sealing. i dont agree that the sealing is ok, mine already died once because of a splash of water, but i found on the forums many other people's complains about this. while the owners of other cameras claim to have no such problems at all, despite they used it in much harsher conditions in which my camera dies (Some of these people i know, and i heard they stories personally, so i dont think they lied, anyway, plenty similar stories are on the internet too). i am also afraid that Canon will not answer this demand, because they did the half of the job.
2. better dynamic range. i would like to see a 4 stops improvement, which is possible and can be easily done, if we consider that some new crop models like nikon d7000 or pentax k5 are already 2 stops better (and almost 1 year old). with this 4 stops i would be able to forget about multiple exposure belndings.

the other and not as much important improvement would be:
-artificial horizon line
-ability to set ISO-s of 50, 25 and 12,5
-more megapixels. 30 would be enough
-an effective dust removing system
-keep the price under 2500$, maybe 2000$
-bigger and at least 2x better resolution screen
-less noise on base iso in very long exposures.

which i dont think necessary:
other focus system, metering, frames-per second, video, high iso.
