Create your own images instead of creating ones that have been done a million times before.

70-200. You should be more concerned with the speed of the lens first. The 70-200 is a 2.8, great for low light. I usethe 18-200 for my travel lens and love it.

I focus on what happens in the camera rather than post processing in Photoshop. I do edit each image, usually adjusting the levels but that is about it. I may crop an image here and there or remove something in the background that is distracting but I don't over-Photoshop an image. In my opinion, if an image needs too much Photoshop editing, it is not a strong image to begin with.

The couples gets them as soon as they return from their honeymoon, usually 7 days.

Katie, the images in your posted portfolio are better tha some of the images I have seen on here. For 16, you have a great talent for portraits. If you can create images like this at the event, then charge what you think you should be paid, not what someone would pay you to babysit. I would charge $200 to $500. Take into consideration you time at the event, the time you will take to edit the images, and any costs to you related to printing. Don't give it away for free. I know we all have to start somewhere but you have talent and should be paid accordingly.

I don't think you should shoot the wedding and hold the images hostage. You are just asking for more headaches. If you can, walk away.

Have you tried calling her?

I agree with David Schilling. Thery may not pay you once they receive the images. Also, I only give hi res JPEGS as I only want my best, edited work out in the public. My clients will NEVER see the images that don't make the cut.

Do you have a contract?

How much are your wedding packages? If an album is a heirloom, should it be of better quality than mypublisher.com? I use them occasionaly for personal stuff but you are supposed to be the professional and be able to offer something better than what the client can do for themselves. The couple will be showing other people, including potential clients, their album. Is that the product you want people to see?

The skin color of the face and the rest of her body are to different. This makes the unset glow seem more orange than it probably is.

how do you lose 900 images on one 4 gig card? I shoot RAW and am lucky to get 160 out of a card. Are you shooting JPEG?

Starbucks. I always want to meet the client face to face.

I am leaving them shortly

I have done over approximately 70 weddings over the last few years and I have decided to focus on other areas of photography (I also have a day job that pays well). I have enjoyed most of the wedddings I have done but between dealing with some bridezillas and MOBs, and wanting to spend my spare time elsewhere, it is time for me to move on. I will say photographing weddings did allow me to further develop my photographing skills. I do wish those who take on wedding photography the best of luck!

If you are concerned about it, ship it prior to your arrival.

Was there a contract? Was any money exchanged? She may not have a case if you were not compensated for your services. You can go one of two ways. You can keep the wedding images until you are properly paid and risk her badmouthing you or you can give her the photos and move on (and chalk it up to a learning experience).

I have been to Europe many times and I always sacrifice lens speed for traveling light. I am a Nikon user and while I shoot weddings with a 17-55 and a 70-200, I leave them at home and bring my 18-200 VR lens when traveling. I may bring a 50mm 1.8. After walking around town all day with a bag, you will not want to bring a lot of glass. Also, are you traveling with someone? If so, will they get tired of you stopping to switch lenses?
You have to decide what is more important to you, your comfort and sanity of your traveling companion or getting that great shot in a church.
To answer your question, I would definately take the 28-135mm and the 50mm. Save your money and spend it in Europe, not on a new lens. In my opinion, life expereinces are better than any piece of camera equipment. I hope this helps!

I get solicitations like that all the time. Just a way for a company to make money.
