I am from New York here to start a business all you need is a ss card, go to the county court house and file for your DBAs maybe $50 each. Then to your bank and open a seperate checking account for your business under the DBA name. Next stop the office store for an accounting system I use quickbooks. You are now in business. As for your income tax exposure all start up costs and expences can be deducted from your income and if your business is spending more than it is generating you will be able to deduct the loss from income you are earning at your regular job. I have never been able to afford a accountant but do use a tax prep service, just bring them my regular W2 and a income statementfrom quickbooks. Good luck

Consider a business that helps customers do more with their pictures; posters, photo books, scrapbooking, photo gifts, restoration and copies of old pictures, scanning, framing, photo collages, vedeo transfer. Many of these services you don't even have to be able to do yourself just find a good outlab to do the work for you at wholesale rates mark the work up and sell the job then add equiptment as you learn the market.
