I will go to Maui in November. After my friend's wedding, we will take some days to explore

this island in Pacific. Since none of my friends have been there before, I have no idea how to

enjoy there. I will have 5 days there. I know one thing is snorkeling, and another one is to

get up at 3:00am to climb Haleakala for the stunning sunrise. But what else? Kindly can you

give me suggestions for both outdoor activity and photgraph opportunities? BTW, we will

have a SUV, so no problem for rough roads.

Hi,

I have plan to visit Yosemite, Kings Cayon/Sequoia in the winter

(Dec. 30 -- Jan 2). I live in the east coast, so I have no idea

about the winter in South CA. I will drive a 4-wheel-drive SUV, but

may not have the snow package on it. So is it possible to drive

there if there is snow? For example, I want to see the half dome in

Yosemite, can I see it if there is snow?

I just bought a Canon 1N. And to my curiocity, is there someone who

knows where the metering sensor is mounted in the body?

 

On the other hand, I may replace the focus screen. For this woke, can

I do it as DIY, or I have to send it out to have Canon service to do that?

Thanks for your suggestion. It seems that I shouldn't be optimistic for the light in the canyon. BTW, the permit of North Coyote Buttes should be obtained by lottery or 'first come first service'?

I plan to Antelop canyon in end of December. Has anyone been there

before around this period? Since I have never been there, I have

some questions. It is said that the permit to enter the canyon are

limited each day. So how early shall I arrive there to guarantee a

permit? I saw a lot of magic photos of the canyon, do you know what

My elan 2 is broken, so that I want to find a 2nd hand eos 1N. Can

you tell me how many rolls of film that 1N can work with? And if

the camera has been used for 6 or 7 years, how many years can it go

still?

 

On the other hand, EOS-3 is another choice. Is the body of EOS 3 as

sturdy as 1N?

I will go to Oregon and Washington in early August. I will stay

around Portland, OR for a few days, and then go to Mt. Rainier. I

want some suggestions about

1. Some good scenic places near to Portland to take photograph;

2. Trails on Mt. Rainier. I am not a professional hiker to climb

the mountains, so I want to choose a trail without critical

requirements but with good view to take pictures.

Hi, there,

 

I will go to Mount Rainier in the first week of August. Originally,

i want to camp there, but someone told me that even in August, it is

very cold at night there, and even worse, it always rains there. Is

that true? I don't want to camp in a cold (say under 50 degree) and

rainy night.

 

If I have to stay in the motel, is there any one that you can

suggest? And which place is the best? Longmire, Ashford, or

Packwood? Since I am a student, I cannot afford an expensive one.
