Beautiful! I think the wide crop particularly suits this, too.
-
This is my first HDR shot. What do you think?
-
I haven't done many star trails shots, so critiques, positive and
negative, are welcomed.

Hans, this is a beautiful shot, because it shows the power of the water. It's also nice because it's an alternate angle on Gullfoss. Nicely done -- I really don't have much to critique!
-
I think Charles is right that the slant is slightly disconcerting. I also think the image feels a little soft. Other than that, it's a nice capture!

Hi Mike...
This shot makes me want to get out and hike! Unfortunately, I also want to reach into the frame and move that branch out of my way... it's really distracting. If you have a chance to redo this, I'd get rid of the branch (or possibly use it for a frame?), get slightly lower, and maybe trim some of the sky...

This is another recovery from the archive -- again, is it worth it?
This is a crop from a full frame shot. I've got an
href="/photodb/photo?photo_id=5425139">alternate crop
as well --any opinions on either one?

I dug this one out of the archives -- was it worth the effort?
Serious critiques are appreciated.

I love this shot. The crisp, sharp lines of the cactus contrast beautifully with the softness of the grass.

Beautiful, Olaf! I'm curious, is this lighthouse at the western end of Snaefellsnes in Iceland? (not to pimp my own photo, but this one?)
-
Wow, now that's some quick feedback! Thanks, guys. And Keith, thanks for the suggestion -- I edited the title to ask people to view larger...

I like this, particularly the sharp white lines of the surf. I think the rocks on the top are encroaching a bit on the calm of the rest of the image, though. I just cropped out most of the rocks (leaving the edge in) and it feels more focused to me.

Thoughts? Better titles? (I always strive for something lyrical, but
I'm almost never happy with what I come up with)

This is a shot I've liked for a while, I just hadn't gotten around to
fixing it up and uploading it. It's a very moody shot to me, which
fits because it was a moody vacation (being rained on (in some form)
every day for over two straight weeks will do that). Opinions?

This shot, to me, feels musical and full of drama. A few minutes
after this was shot we were drenched by the downpour from those
portentious clouds. I had trouble coming up with a good title for it,
so alternate suggestions are welcome.

I think a well-chosen crop would improve this photo immensely. Perhaps down the middle of the post and a little below where the visible beach ends? That way you'd get a nice frame for the sunset.
-
I like the location and the idea, but this feels too busy to me. Might have been better to focus on the fence post or on the dune plants or on the texture of the sand.

This was a grab shot of some flowers popping up through some ferns.
Opinions? Is it too dark?

Spectacular. The juxtaposition of the two allows the viewer to interpret the relationship at will, while giving a direction. The combination of power and frailty is particularly nice. What, you're forced to wonder, is the relationship? Father and daughter? Innocent and protector? Simply child and adult?
All baby photos should be this good.

Nice shot. It doesn't score high for originality (similar shots of the Metro are a common as angry drivers on the Beltway) -- but it is nicely executed, partially for the reason that the station appears completely empty. Most people (including me) are too lazy to wait for that :) The green tint is also interestingly surreal.
Did you shift the color to green yourself, or was that just the way it was? Also, was this shot with a tripod? I thought WMATA outlawed them...

I should add that I don't have a lot of experience with the channel mixer, so I don't know that this is the best possible result, either.
