1.
My suggestion would be to rent each one of them, take notes on the good and bad for each lens and then make your own decision based on your experience. Only then will you know for sure which lens you should get, this is not a decision we can make for you, IMHO.

I personally have the Tamron 70-200 for my Nikons and love it, it is also much lighter then the competition, something very important to me, but maybe not everyone.

Good luck.

  2.
Hi, I need a second shooter to work with me during weddings and to be able to take on weddings by your self. I only do wedding work. All you do is take pictures during the scheduled time and give me the card. You don't have to do any editing or book work or anything. You do not keep the images, they will be property of the Studio, however we can work out a deal so everyone is happy. Position is available for the rest of summer and will continue for the years to come. Looking for someone Extremely reliable, knows how to shoot manual and has your own equipment suitable to shoot weddings. Need to work well with people and have great social skills. Need to understand how to shoot very well in extreme lighting conditions under limited time and stress. Pay is negotiable. I also require you to Not already have a 'wedding photography' business, if you do you will not be considered unless you stop contracting weddings. I am Not interested in Sub-contracting out business. Just trying to find someone who would like a part time photography job. If this sounds like the perfect job for you, please send me an email including; Equipment, experience, about yourself and a link to pictures you have taken in the past and desired pay rate per hour. You will be able to find contact info by clicking my name above. :) Thanks.

  3. I'll answer one. 550 pictures is way to many for my company, but everyone does there own thing... We typically will never deliver more then 350 edited, great pictures, you'll never see any repeats either. And that goes for even the largest weddings we have done. Just my style I guess. I believe less amazing photos is better then a whole lot of just ok photos.

    ;)

  4.
I can't read the writting against the busy, none wedding related background. In my browser(Fire Fox) your logo gets chopped and I can't read it. And your slideshow goes to fast, and won't let me stop it to see the image longer. Also I HATE music on a website.

On the slash page, it's not very eye caching. I would like to see something that really makes me want to see more.

I didn't really understand your pricing. A little confusing for me, and can be for potential clients as well. Keep it simple. :)

I think the site would do better with more pictures and less talking, especially under Weddings and Portraits.

A reason you may not be getting alot of clients right now is because most brides have already picked out there photographer for there wedding this year. You should have better luck next year.

GL!

  5.
We almost always do the formals before the ceremony. I explain how much better the results will be and how free we are to do fun and exiting shots. My brides/grooms understand the inportance of stress free photography. They see results from other weddings and want the same. Alot of the brides also understand how 'not so nice' it is to keep your geusts waiting for an hour or more while they get pictures done. We still get a few that want to stay true to the tradition, just not as many as want to do pictures before. I love my brides for doing pictures before, so much easier!!!

  6.
If it's really that bad, Why not put a black piece of tape over the model and when they ask tell them it's not the camera that makes great pictures, but the photographer and the years of experience you offer.
Or you could put the tape on and reply with, it's so new it's still under testing and you are not allowed to disclose any information at all about anything, and walk away. ;)
Happy Shooting!
7.
Hi,
Here is a dancing shot from the latest wedding I shot. What do you think of this one? What would you do a little differently? I love the emotion.Thanks.
Image info:
Tom and Nichole's wedding, ceremony/reception outside. May 29th in Washington, USA.
Nikon D90, ISO 1600, 1/40 sec @F2.8 Tamron 17-50 @ 46mm MF with a star filter(I love how the effect work for lights at receptions, and I know it's not for everyone, but it is for me...), Manual settings. Used the SB600 to bounce off the top of the white tent. Taken at approx 10:15 pm outside. Very dark!
8.
Ok, I'll try this. Please don't be to harsh as I am still learning....
This year will be my second and a half year, all tought by books and forums. Thanks for all the wonderful people...
Effects added in LightRoom. Lighting is a mix of natural and bounced flash. Camera was a D40X with a Tamron 28-70 F2.8 and a SB600.
Don't remember the rest of the info. Hope you like it!
9.
What equipment do you have right now? What kind of experience do you have? What camera are you familiar with? I stronly advise against getting a brand new set up for a wedding with out truely being able to learn it COMPLETELY. What if you get an -E- on the screen instead of the lens focusing and it's so new you don't know what this means, or even have a clue how to quickly fix it before you miss the first kiss?!?!
