I haven't tried photographing the Mackinaw Bridge with my A100 yet, but to me your image seems quite soft in the center and at the right. I would've tried to get the towers in sharp focus. It looks like the autofocus did not hit the right point (a common problem in low light with a slow lens). If you examine the larger version of the image, the very far left side, around the bridge span almost at the edge of the photo, seems to be in focus. The further back into space you go, the softer/blurrier the photo gets.

Applying a little 'unsharp mask' might sharpen the details in the towers.

The next time you take this photo, you might have to try manually focusing, or maybe us the 'direct manual focus' feature, to help the lens focus in the right area.

Otherwise, I like the composition & colors. I have photographed the bridge before, and I know how hard it is to get the whole thing in one shot. Which reminds me, another technique would be to take multiple photos and stitch them together (a panorama). That way you could get the full span of the bridge.

Beautiful shot. Saw your name a few times in the Sony/Minolta forum threads & thought I'd stop by.

Great composition in this shot, and great range of tones (if only digital cameras could be coaxed to get such tones without loads of processing!). I particularly love trees that have a few sprigs of leaves on their trunks. Very nice shot.

I like the composition of this shot very much. The greends are good, and interesting. However, I think the pink in the lily is over-saturated, and possbily the yellow as well. I think it could be improved by lowering the pink/yellow color saturation in the lily (but leave the green-colored leaves alone).
  1. I like the color and composition of your photo. I imagine the overcast sky helped bring out the earthier colors? There seems to be a bit of digital "noise," however, particularly in the clouds' reflection in the water. It is a visually interesting photo.

Great image. I would've given it an even higher rating, except in my estimation it is a little bit overexposed. Too much light coming from the waves behind the subject, but still very nice.
