Hey everyone!
I just found myself in possession of a Yashica-mat LM, and upon preliminary examination it seems to be in good
condition, everything turning very smoothly, no scratches on the lenses, etc. The inside seems to be in beautiful
condition, but the outside is rather dusty and I'd like to give the whole thing a good cleaning before I take it
out to shoot. I would really love to do it myself, so what should I be aware of and what cleaning materials
should I use?
Also, this is my first medium format camera (unless you count a Holga) as well as my first TLR, and I'm on the
look out for information on this camera and how it works. I haven't found a manual for it yet. Anyone know of any
resources for me on this model? I only know a few surface details about the LM, the light meter issues being one
of them...
All right, thank you in advance for any feedback, I really appreciate it!

Thank you so much! I appreciate the amount of time you put in to your response, that's
so helpful! I'm going to check out these links and see what I'm going to go with. I'll
have to let you know what I end up getting, or what I debate on getting... Thanks again,
it's so nice of you to take the time to answer so thoroughly.

Hey all!
I'm looking into a portable strobe kit for myself, and I've had a lot of trouble finding good customer
reviews. I'm looking to spend a max of $2000 for a kit, and I've found one that looks good on paper,
the Bowens Gemini 500/500/500 kit - 3 heads with stands, two umbrellas, one box, etc. I've worked
with Bowens, Dyna-Lights, and Speedatrons before, but this is the first time it's been my purchase
so I want to make sure I'm getting the best for my money.
Does anyone have any comment on the Bowens brand, or even the specific kit, versus others for
the same price range? I'm a brand new grad with my BFA in photo, and I'm just starting out
collecting my gear. I'm sorely in need of my own portable kit, and so any feedback would be very
much appreciated!
Thank you!!

thanks, i actually have the battery situation down - lots of tape and sweat and bubblegum. I don't really want to modify my sx-70, it was a family camera when i was a kid and i'd feel dirty tearing it up. i might check out the blend film, eh. i've been shooting with the 104 for quite a while and love it, just got the 360 today and it needs a bit of work, but it came with box, manual, flash, charger, etc, and in pretty good condition. can't wait to use it. thanks for the advice and the sites!

I have a few Polaroid cameras that need some cleanup (and possibly some minor
repairs) and I'm looking for a good resource to help me through the process,
so's not to destroy them. I've got a couple of land cameras (104, 360) and my
father's beautiful old sx-70. I'm even interested in replacing the leatherette
on the sx-70, because the original is rather scuffed up, but I have no idea
where to get it (aside from some place in Japan...) Anyone know of any resources
for me? Thanks!
