  1. Well now that we have the exposure down, does anyone have an opinion on presetting the camera (Nikon) to create a black and white exposure when shooting the moon? Does it make any difference? And what filter effect? Red/yellow/orange? What's your preferred moon color? Straight on grayish white, dull gray, yellowish orange? Also, how can we predict when the moon will occasionally appear to be much closer, larger and orange when it is low on the horizon? Is there a specific time table for this? Or is it just a luck shot?
  2. Hello folks,

I did my first wedding last month, a simple affair....shot on the fly as they got

maried in a hot air balloon. In order to get some experience, we just came up with

a flat nominal fee and just gave them the JPEGS on a CD. In hopes of getting a

referral, I wanted to make them a simple album. I don't have photoshop or any

fancy equipment to do it myself. Does anyone have any suggestions? Perhaps

an online site where I can simply upload the photos and design the album? Thank

    you!

  3. Hello everyone:

I am looking into the D40x as my first DSLR and I'm wondering if there is any AF

longe range zoom lens out there that will fit it (other than the $1700 70-200

VR....that's a little steep) Any recommendations?

    Thanks!

I am going with the 24-85mm AF-S for a midrange lens, by the way... Thoughts?

  4. Hi there,

I am looking into jumping from point-and-shoot to SLR, and I am really liking the looks of the D40x. I also am looking seriously at this 18-135 DX lens you guys are talking about. With my point and shoot, pictures were constantly blurry, always caught the background in focus, but never the subject. My question for you is, this 18-135...is it going to be worth it in the long run? Will I love the D40x compared to a Canon p&s? Is this a good "all purpose" lens? I am just looking to do some basic shots of my kids, and some light landscape stuff, flower close ups, etc. Should I go for it? And, as long as I am spending around $900 for the camera and lens, should I just go with the D80?
