  1. <p>Thank you everyone for your response, it is very useful.<br>

Mark, I am using a digital camera, Canon 1D 4 and each of those lenses have a polarizer filter on. <br>

I do pretty well with shooting throught the window glass, look at this photo: </p>

    <p>http://www.photo.net/photo/11773114</p>

<p>I know it is not always easy though.<br>

And it will be Papillon tour for William's reply. And apparently, they have panoramic windows.<br>

Also, I don't know yet where we will be seated. The helicopter tour is reserved but the places will be assigned according on our weight. Let's hope that I get to be seated in the best place.<br>

And I don't know yet if we will be flying over the north rim or the south rim. </p>

<p>Personnally, I would not bring the Tamron 28-300mm for it's flexibility, because this lens is not as sharp as the Canon L series 16-35 and 70-200 that I have. I think that a compromise on the sharpness for the flexibility is not the best idea for this tour. </p>

<p>So I still have to decide which one of the 16-36mm and 70-200mm L series I must bring. </p>

<p>Also, I will follow your advice not to keep my eye glued on the view finder to enjoy the scenery. I agree with you, I must appreciate the pure beauty of it.</p>

    <p>Thank you very much!</p>

  2. <p>Hi Kevin, thx for the reply! Yes you are absolutely right! Gee you are very sharp! I had this IE update yesterday from Windows and since them this problem. So I clicked in the option you told me to and now it is working allright.<br>

But between you and me, I dislike this Adorama feature anyway... of unfolding a page. It is allways in our way!<br>

If someone wanst to go to Adorama, why not just put a click button ;)<br>

    Yannik</p>

  3. <p>I would like to inform you that we cannot open the Daily Photo Sampling, by clicking on the photos, because of the new disposition of the Adorama add.<br>

Could you please redo the page format.<br>

    Thx.</p>

  4. <p>What I did is in adjustment layers, in Selective colours, adjusted in the reds, in the magenta, the yellow.<br />Then a few adjustments in sharpness, a little of glow and smoothness.<br />Hope this helps you.<br>

ps: don't forget that this blonde girl has allreday a rosy complexion that we must take into account and keep just a little of that rosiness to be true.</p>

  5. <p>Hi Steven, I haven't read every one's comment, I read 'till Colin Carron. I agree with Colin. I have the 5DII since the 12th of december and I absolutely love this camera, I had the 5D before and traded it for the 5D mark II.<br />I had no problems what so ever and I shot under -40 celsius degrees in january, we had cold records for several days and I took these photos and I had no problems at all:<br /><a href="../photo/8538711">http://www.photo.net/photo/8538711</a><br /><a href="../photo/8538572">http://www.photo.net/photo/8538572</a><br />and this one was taken at -25 degrees Celsius:<br /><a href="../photo/8560549">http://www.photo.net/photo/8560549</a><br />These people wrote the article probably to blast Canon.<br />And yes the 5DII is weather sealed, maybe not as much as the 1D but much more then the 5D. You should read this on DP review and by the way, read the whole review: <a href="http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos5dmarkii/">http://www.dpreview.com/previews/canoneos5dmarkii/</a> it is the best sites for camera reviews.</p>

    <h4>"Construction and environmental seals</h4>

<p>As you can see from the first image below the body is made up of three pieces of magnesium, the only plastic elements being sides and the base. With the advent of the Mark II Canon are finally talking about the dust / water resistance of the body, the second image below shows these seals, Canon's description: "The battery compartment, memory card door, LCD and the camera buttons are all fitted with sealing materials (indicated in red). In addition the adoption of high precision <a href="http://a.img-dpreview.com/previews/CanonEOS5DMarkII/Images/splitlevelalignment.jpg" target="5dmkii">split-level alignment</a> of the magnesium-alloy external covers, high precision dial construction and external rubber grip covers (indicated in green), has improved the camera's dust and water resistance."<br />And David Ziser was very thrilled by this camera <a href="http://digitalprotalk.blogspot.com/2008/11/its-revelations-monday-8-hours-with.html">http://digitalprotalk.blogspot.com/2008/11/its-revelations-monday-8-hours-with.html</a><br>

<br />My opinion is that there will always be detractors you must take lightly some of the things that people right or say. My personal experience is very happily conclusive.<br />Hope this helps.</p>

  6. <p>Charles and Bob, the gear, the exif data, the aperture and the speed are great details on how the photo was taken. If I like the photography, I take notes in my head on how to try to achieve this. This is learning process.<br>

If the photographer writes how they took the image, it's even better. So this is why I read it. And apparently, some think that it is important to write wrong equipment to "feel" better about their "photographer quality". This is why I found that out and also because I know the person and it was easy for me to find these false pretentions and besides being hurt finding out that the person is "posing" on the internet, I think that it is pointless in wanting to improve in photography.<br>

But as said Thomas, some people like to build up there internet persona. Now I know.</p>

  7. <p>Hi Thomas and Matthew, it's easy to know it as I can compare with another website. I created an image of only the info as I don't want to give hints on who it is. I will upload it.<br>

And I know he uses only digital camera and all the exif data are on his files. And if in case he wouldn't remember, he just has to look at the info on the other website.<br>

I want to know if you disaprove this. Personnaly I think that there is no point in putting false info to make people believe god know what makes him happy. And I am very concerned as I thought he was a friend. I totally disaprove. I think that it is very wrong.<br>

    Your thoughts please. Thx.</p><div>00SIS2-107679784.jpg.906b7588d037b7ba2bd207c9b02d4a88.jpg</div>

  8. <p>I would like to know what is your opinion on writing deliberately wrong photo equipment in the description of the photo and the tabs? Like deliberately writing a higher grade of a camera and lenses?<br>

What is the point in the photographer's mind? Why would someone deliberately lie about this? Is it snobishness? Is it fraudulent? Isn't it direspect on the PN member's?<br>

As for myself, I think that this is very wrong!</p>

  9. <p>There is no point in getting rid of the exif data if you are trutfull about your equipment and not pretending to use another equipment. Also, looking at the pixels of the image, we have a pretty good idea of the quality of the photographic equipment uses.<br>

And as for adding copyright info, you can add it in your camera and if not, add it in Photoshop Bridge, there is a tab for that. Go into Tools, then add it in : Create Metadata. Then when you took your photos and have uploaded it to your computer, open Bridge, Tools and then Append Metadata.<br>

    Hope this helps.</p>

  10. <p>" HOW MANY AEB SHOTS can do EOS 5D"<br>

Yes, 3 at a time but do it twice, this feature is now possible in the new mark II.<br>

But my question is that it appears that the AEB doesn't work in slow shutter speed. Does anyone know from how many seconds it stops working? I cannot get the hold on the info.<br>

    Thx.</p>

  11. <p>Talking about multiple photos at the time, I am sorry to bring this up here but I didn't find any place else yet, but here is my question: are you thinking of upgrading the beta version of "<a href="http://www.photo.net/photodb/uploads/index?folder_id=883574">Upload several photos at once to this folder (Beta)</a> " for the new files ? like I have the Canon 5D mark II and this beta version doesn't work. There is always the "500" error.<br>

But I don't have any problems with other cameras. I like that beta feature to upload several photos at the time and also that it uploads our EXIF data.<br>

    Regards.</p>

  12. I have the Canon 5D and 40D.

When I use my 17-40mm lens on my 5D, I don't find it wide enough to my taste, even less with the 40D cropped sensor. With your 40D, you should consider getting the EF-S 10-22mm.

I also have the 28-135mm lens and I don't find it built as sturdy as other Canon lenses.

IMHO, if you are considering changing cameras, you should consider getting the 5D full frame sensor like Mark Pierlot suggested, then your lenses will be exactly what they are. It depends on how many lenses you allready have that won't be useful anymore and on your budget. Or do you plan on keeping both cameras, like I do.

I like to have both cameras mounted with different lenses and be ready for different needs without having to change the lenses too often and risking getting dust trapped on the sensor.

Personnaly, I am considering buying the new Canon 14mm f/2.8L II EF USM Lens for my 5D one day, but it's quite expensive! It is just border being a fish eye but it's not. So no circular photos. Just a beautiful ultrawide angle lens.

    I hope this helps.

    Cheers!

  13. Rob, Alistair, Aurel, Allard and Christina: Thank you very much you were right. I updated my Camera Raw for 4.5 and it does open my 40D CR2 files now. I was in doubt but you confirmed it.

I was worried to mess with my computer once more but this was the real problem

Many thx again to all of you for helping solve this. Next time, I will try updating the software first.

    Regards, Yannik

  14. Thx Trevor for the tip, maybe for Paintshop Pro that's the problem.

Dan: yes it works with zoom browser, I can see my files, this is why I know my files are not corrupt. But for a strange reason, since I noticed it, just a couple of days ago, Photshop says the cr2 files coming from Canon 40d cannot be read. Before: no proble.

And Photoshop can read my Canon 5d cr2 files. I am going on vacation in a couple of weeks, I must sort this out. Also, I have good files I have to work. It cannot even read my 40d cr2 fils I took before I noticed the problem. I had my 40d since january 2008 and this is the first time that this problem happens to me.

  15. Here I write exactly the error message and it is the same in photoshop and in Paintshop Pro, and on my 2 computers.

"The specified file cannot be identified as a supported file type".

    Strange so strange!

It is CR2, and it has always been supported before.

  16. Hi Alistair, Thx for the tip. I just did the firmware update and it doesn't solve my problem, still the same message, the file is not a supported file.

Aurel, I does the same with the sRAW and the RAW, both in Photoshop and in Paintshop Pro. I can view the file with ZoomBrowser. But I cannot work my files with the a program. This is hapening only since a coule of days. Before that, I didn't have any problems.

I don't know what suddenly happened.

  17. I need help.

I don't know what happened but both Photosop CS3 and Paintshop Pro cannot read my CR2 files on my Canon 40D.

Neither my old files nor my new ones. And I just noticed this problem this weekend.

But I don't have this problem with my CR2 files coming from my Canon 5D. Only with my 40D.

And to be sure that it's not because of my settings in my 40d, I reseted the defaults settings.

I even formated my computer in case it was my computer and it is not that. Also in the second computer I use I have

    the same problem!

I need to be able to work my photos. Gosshhh!

I don't have problems with the jpg format on my 40D only the CR2 files.

Do you know what is the problem?

    Best regards.

    Yannik
