<p>Just to add a little bit more info.......</p>

<p>I typically take sport/action shot..... I take alot pics of my kids soccer games and usually do motorcycle racing pics......<br>

I currently have a D300 and a D40, and I have a 70-200 f4 Nikon lens... and I just picked up a 50mm 1.8 lens, <br>

Also have kids, so a well built strong/tough lens is definitely important to me.....</p>

<p>I am thinking about purchasing one of the two lens and I am looking for any feedback I can get regarding the two lens. I am leaning toward the Tamron ($700) lens over the Nikon ($2,300)...<br>

Except for the name and price difference, will I really be able to tell or see the difference between the two lens......</p>

<p>I was thinking about trying work at a picture place like Sear, The Picture People, or some place along those lines to get some practical experience as well as have access to the sitting room area/studio.<br>

What do you think and has any one ever gone this route?<br>

With the holiday season coming around, I figured it would be a good way to earn a couple of dollars, gather a lot of practical experience, figure out what I really needed as far as a studio and equipment is concern, just to name a few.....</p>

It actually me riding so of course i could not have taken the pic also. But i

was trying to do the B/W background. I read Marc post earlier today and decided

to give it a shot.

What do you do with the pics you take?

I was looking at one of the photo-member pics and of course they were awesome.

But then afterward, i wondered, what the heck is he(or she) going to do with it.

I mean do you sell them, just post them here, admire the pic and be done with

it, what?

I would think that with all of them time, energy & money that is invested in the

hobby/passion......

You do something with them.

Last year, i brought D40, which came with the 18-55 lens, so i also picked-up

the Nikkor 55-200 lens and I really enjoy taking picture with it. To date, i

take shot of my kids soccer games, motorcycle racing, and i guess pick in

general when i see something that really catches my eye.

Recently i have been contemplating pick-up the 70-300 lens:

but i am not sure if it really worth the extra out lay of cash. So my

question is for those who do have the 70-300 lens, what kinds of picture do you

capture with it and/or when do you use that lens?

And if i wanted to get a let say the D200, or the D300 sometime in the near

future, would the lens i currently(as well as the 70-300) transfer/work with

that camera body also.
