I've noticed dust inside my N80 also. And of course the
reason I noticed it there was because of scratches on some
negatives (and prints).
I try to remember to blow the dust out whenever I change
a roll. My N80 may be more prone to dust than my N6006 was.
And I rarely have my camera in a very dirty environment.
(I may have run 120 rolls through my N80 so far)
Advice on AF (N80 type)
in Nikon
Posted
I've had an N80 almost since it was introduced. I like it a lot.
The metering is good, the AF is good, and it is a nice small
camera (by AF+motor-drive standards).
You should know the N80 will not meter with non-AF lenses.
I believe you'll get the fastest AF with the fastest lenses.
So if you have a 50 f1.8, or something f2.8 or less you'll
get snappy AF performance.
My N80 has survived a few outdoor excursions in the rain, but
otherwise has had an easy life. No problems.
Good luck
