I ask them what they want and if they do not want formals before then i dont do them before. It is there day and i let them do what they want. I am on the west coast so about 65% of brides and grooms choose to do them before because i recomend it in our first meeting but i do not push it. I get to do the formals either way.

Well i have go with the idea that it is the lens that I have been using. There is no other explanation. Nikon has replaced my first D3 and the problem kept happening. From now on i will only shoot Nikkor lens and see if this problem continues.
Thanks for all your help and comments.

Yes I have tried 6 diffrent cards. No, turning the power on and off keeps it jammed. Nikon thought it was a formatting problem but they formated my cards in there office and it still happens.

My D3 keeps jamming up with no rime or reason. Nikon has looked at it and they say it works fine but that is in there lab and people are not paying them to capture there day so they can not reproduce this jam.
If I take the card out it resets and starts working again. Until it jamms again.
Here is a photo of what the display show while it is jammed.

I just got a message from a bride last week and It Said " I cried I laughed I went through my whole day again. Thank you so much
you made every memory come back to me. Aunt flow with a $800 camera and no talent can not capture the day like a pro can. No
friend or family is going to work there ass off to capture every great moment that happens during there day. Someone who wants
great photos and to be able to make an awesome album needs to hire a pro. No two ways about it.

Bjorn,
Thank you for that tip. If my camera contiues to take a crap when I get it back from Nikon then I will try that.
Hello Simon,
Well thank you for sharing... at least I can telll nikon that i am not the only one.

Yes Michael I love the camera and have nothing bad to say about it at all. It is my work horse. That why I need it to work.

Thanks Shun... Not what I wanted to hear but that is a very real possibility of it being a defect. Glad it is under warranty.

Actully Shun I did that and they do not look bent. And yes tboth lots have done this with many good cards. It just seems the cards are
not staying tight. Thanks
"Elliot" I did take it in on monday but I thought I would just run it by this cool group of people to see if this was unheard of. I guess so.
Thanks

Yes i tried it with 5 diffent approved cards with 2 in the slots and then with 1 in each and it did it with all cards and both slots.
Thanks for your responce!

I am a wedding Photographer and I shoot with a D3 and over the last 10 weddings my card slot says there is not a card in there so it does not fire.
BAD very bad. It has happened to my camera about 4-6 times per wedding... I was very lucky there were not in an important moment.
If I take the card out and put it back in then it works again. So it takes me about 8 secs to pop it out and put tit back in. A long time for a wedding
Photographer to have his 5K equipment not work.
So my question is has this happened to any D3 owners or has anyone heard of this problem. Maybe I am just the lucky winner of a lemon?
Thanks in advance!!!
