  1. Ok, while you all are talking shop (a900) not all of us can afford the jump to FF, Sony a700 is basicly off the shelves

and whats being sold is left over stock. Now that leaves a BIG gap between the low end and the FF/24mp 900. I find

it hard to believe that a 'pro' would buy the a200, a300, a350 (knowing what I know now & the fact that liveview would

be in the way)...so I do hope Sony will surprise us all and produce a replacement for the a700, thats suits the market

that the a100, then the a700 filled....I really don't want to jump ship but at this point why buy the discontinued a700?

I will have to wait and lose business until I see whats going to be on Sony's plate...(oh, BTW, I have an a100, I

dropped a few weeks ago. It has been a great workhorse! But now I will be replacing it with something! Just want it to

be a middle of the road price point!) I love my Minolta lens and would hate to jump ship...:-( Maybe the a900 won't

be the flagship....maybe it will be at the $2000 price point which would then fill the gap needed in thier line and still

surprise us with a flagship model...;-) Wouldn't that be great??? Thanks for all your wonderful post...good reading

    material!

  2. If it counts towards anything (and mind you I am a nobuddie)...lol...was in my local camera shop, and was told that they have already been prepped for the new sonys...they were told both models before christmas...entry level a step below the alpha, and a pro level. We will all just have to wait and see won't we...smile everyone life is to short to squabble!!! We all swim in the same water...:)
  3. Thanks for the info...will try shooting only in 'P' mode...I did get a Sigma EF-500 DG ST Flash. Will try that with the 'P'. Hopefully I'll get things figured out now with your help. Thanks...will post a photo soon!

  4. Well, I think I figured it out...when I use 'D' lens the flash works just fine! When I go to the standard 5 pin contector lens...I need to set on pre-flash and but it has to be DARK..Can't seem to force the flash at all...and is there a way to set your pre-flash as default? I have look everywhere in the settings with no avail?
  5. I have a Sony alpha. No matter what settings, (auto, pre, etc),I have tried

when usings the built in flash, my photos are always dark. This is limiting my

abilitiy to shot inside or when I need flash. Haven't bough a flash unit yet.

But you'd think the built in would work for close in shots...help? I am

looking at the Sigma EF-500 DG ST ADI.
