    I have an 4GB extreme III CF and it works fine and I haven't had any problems with the Memory Stick Pro Duo and Adapter either. I'm not too sure what could be the problem but I'd suggest taking it back to the place you bought it or sending it back to Sony. Hope it's still in warranty!

    I also have a Sony Alpha and I am also new to the Digital SLR scene. I bought a few magazines from the Newsagents and read a lot of info on the internet. It helped a lot but also just taking photos for yourself and using different settings to see what they do helps even further. Experimentation is definately the key. Goodluck!!!
