1.
Argus/Cosina STL10001 was my first SLR. I loved it and have many good memories of using it. When a spring in shutter mechanism broke I had to move on but repaired it and would still use if I could get the light meter to work well. Not having the correct battery available any more means the meter was off. I have used hearing aid batteries which worked but did not last long. Best wishes for fun times with your Argus/Cosina. I had a little device that came with the camera that slides on the eyepiece and gives a shoe no connections so not a hot shoe.

  2.
Right now the new site is almost unusable. Looking for lens I find no way to filter by mount type I did as suggested by them and tried the search function for Pentax mount zoom lens. Came back with 6762 hits so unusable as a search function. You can still go back to classic KEH at bottom of page but they say that will no be there long. Very disappointed with what could have been a step forward but instead is three steps backwards.

  3.
Looking at a new to me lens for my K-7 in the 18-200 or 250 range
Choices a used Pentax 18-250 F3.5-6.3 SMC DA ED AL IF
or a new Tamron 18-200

or Sigma in that range.

used Pentax nearly twice as expensive as new Tamron granted 250 longer than 200.

Any experience with these would picture quality be better with the Pentax. Would either Tamron or Sigma be as good particularly sharpness .

Thanks

  4.
If you are looking at the lower end of price range check out PIXMA iX6520
I recently bought one as my ip8500 is soon going to need a new head too. It is a 13x19 printer. Ink tanks a bit small but same as my PIXMA MG6220 so that was helpful. available as low as $99 at Amazon some weeks. I have only printed about 5 photos as I just got it but seems to be good. It seems to have almost all good reveiws. Most printers have half reviews of those who like them and half those who hate them so I took a chance based on reviews. Bought at B&H for $119 as Amazon was $129 that week.

  5.
I have a cheap slide scanner that saves the file to an SD card.
Every one saves with the date 1/1/2008 then in PSE organizer its hidden way back in 2008 photos.
I can not figure out how to change the date. How do I change it so it uses the present day as a date
Thanks

  6.
As I look at the sharpness and quality of these photos I comtemplate what generations to come will find of photos from our time. It seems far too many will be low quality cell phone pictures and our time on earth will be relegated to low quality photos when others in the past left us such beautiful work.

  7.
I need to find a half hour to hour long program for camera club in about 6 weeks.
Has anyone any ideas I am especially interested if any one can recommend a DVD to purchase to use.
members run the range from just buying a camera to seasoned photographers and one lady who has been a club member since the 1950's
any ideas would be appreciated

  8.
Recently got my own copy of PhotoshopElements 5.0. Notice that basic printing of photos on my canon ip3000 I get better photos with my old Canon Zoombrowser or Microsoft Image Pro 9.
Photos seem too green.
and was wondering of all the hundreds of adjustments in PSE where do I start. Have been doing smart fix.
also I cannot seem to obtain a letter size borderless print I always have a 1/4 inch white line top and bottom.

  9. My son bought a used K100D and being a K100dSuper owner I was trying to help so I set the custom settings back

to default. Now he says it takes an unusually long time to focus. What did I do wrong?

    Any ideas.

    Thanks

  10. Recently purchased a 9 rated used DSLR from them. I cannot find any evidence it is not new. Everthing in box as new. I am well satisfied. Longer ago purchased a used flash which was as good or better than advertised.

So from those few observations I would see no problem.

  12. I love taking pictures of carnival lights at the fair. I used to get good slides each year, but now that slides are no

longer an option for photo contest at the fair I am trying digital. When I try to go to a lower exposure than the camera

on auto recommends as I want parts to be black as it is night time I end up with pictures that look blue rather than

dark in the non lighted areas. I think the same question would apply in taking fireworks photos. I want the sky black

not some much lighter shade of blue.

What am I missing in this

    Thanks

  13. Recently spent my photo budget on a K100D Super. As any flash recommended by Pentax is sort of pricy at the

moment, what would happen if I used an Achiever 260 that I had been using on my film ZX30

I dont think voltage is a problem because it was low enough to be fine with the ZX-30. I know it will not be P-TTL but

will it work ok using the flash sensors to control light. ie any harm in trying it????

    Thanks
