I love everything about this picture; the transluscent delicacy of the unfurled petals, the softness of the lighting that somehow dies away, the subtlety of the colour with the tiniest highlights of yellow and muted greens, the composition. Perfect! Truly wonderful renaissance painting with light at its best.

I love the almost monochrome effect of the muted colours with the bright orange mirrored in the flowers and the melon. The lighting and composition is wonderful and I much prefer the rectangular cropping.
