1.
My SB-600 is dead. It was dropped from a low table and the hot shoe hit the floor first. There is absolutely no sign of damage from the fall but the unit just won't power on.
I googled around and found many instances of dead SB-600 due to a fall. Some believe the SB-600 is a little too fragile perhaps due to some kind of design flaw.
I understand it was perhaps not designed to take a fall of any kind but a more robust product would always be welcome.

 2.
There can be many factors but first you need to understand what maximum sync speed is.
The maximum flash sync speed is the fastest shutter speed at which the entire image sensor can be illuminated by flash pulse.
Ideally the first curtain should open instantly and the flash fires immediately after the first curtain is open. However that's not what happens with real world camera and flash. The first curtain takes time to open, then there might be a delay between the 1st curtain fully open to the time flash fires.
3.
Thanks for the answers.
The 35mm f/1.8G reversed can give me 1.75X magnification. The image quality looks decent. So I thought it may be more usable to add an aperture control.
Looks like BR-6 with Ar-3 will allow me to set the aperture.

 4.
Do I need to get the AR-2 or the AR-3 for Nikon BR-6 Auto Diaphragm Ring? I want to be able to a G-lens for Macro in the reversed configuration.

They seem to have quite different connectors at the end.

Thanks.
