1.
Nice subject to be discussed. Let's also speak about the weather somewhere else, far away from the junky heaters and poor budgets. Let's speak about high heels getting broken and trowsers getting torn. Let's speak about anything just not to be obliged to look at our photographs! They are good photographs, all right, but, somehow, we can see them no more...
People talk about water heaters in the beginning of the summer, and they have enough pluck to call themseves photographers! My friend sold yesterday one of his two cameras, to buy enough film for a shooting trip. This was a tough desision for one who is about to go hiking with only one unreliable old camera, notwithstanding the ridiculous sums involved ($100).

  2. To the attention of Magnus Wedberg.

Minolta Maxxum/Dynax 9xi is NOT sealed either or (possibly comparint to Dynax 9) AT ALL.

I own this camera and should say that it fears dust and sand more than anything else. Though heavy, it is mot so much "rugged" as some like to think.

    BUT!

The strength of Minolta AF system is not in weather resistance if you know what I mean.

I will mention just one point. With a bit of f*cking around one can mount almost anything on it. I have already. The next thing I am going to mount is Koni-Omega's Hexanon and later Leica R glass.

I can easily change focusing screens - it will accept anything.

They are not NICE cameras those Minoltas, they sound worse than anything, but you just can't find a real REPLACEMENT.

  3. Hallo everybody!

    Much depends on development...

TechPan may have a wonderful tonal range in some developers.

Gigabit is repackaged AGFA COPEX HDP as many people say it.

Please, be informed, that there are some supposedly very good and versatile films made now in Russia by TASMA.

I was VERY surprized visiting one of MF forums and seeing HP-5, Delta and other ILfords being regarded as a pale substitute for some current russian films by those russian MF photographers. They also certainly praise Acros more than Ilford. Haven't tried new Russian films myself yet, not living in Moscow, but from my previous experience with old ones can assertain that this can VEry possibly be true.

Somehow Ilford does make photographs made by different authors look very much ALIKE this is my impression...
