1.
Ok, forget any firmware questions. Same firmware in all 3 cameras for one thing. And as I told Pentax yesterday over the phone, how exactly can I update the firmware if the camera can not even see an SD card that I put in? Even a new SD card the camera refuses to see it. It's obviously something going on with the card reader portion of the camera. Slot is totally spotless upon inspection. No corroded contacts that I can see. No broken bits anywhere to be seen, nothing. I even compared the slot interior to the working camera and they both look exactly the same. That camera is shot, and I am guessing so is the one that will not even turn on after replacing the batteries. Even Pentax said they have never seen 2 cameras go down at the same time. And despite my being a loyal customer of over 30 years, they were not willing to offer a bit of help in the repair dept. So much for loyalty. I can get that kind of treatment from anywhere else so I am debating why I should remain loyal to Pentax, and that is exactly what I told them over the phone.

 2.
have tried all different SD cards, all worked before yesterday. bought new SD card this PM, and nothing, still not reading it. Also, tried to install firmware update, but can't do it because camera not reading the cards! Looks like I somehow lost 2 cameras at the same time, what R the odds?

 3.
Thank you for your input. In the next day or so I'll be getting some new batteries. All 3 cameras are insured, so if batteries don't work, one of those cameras might have to have an accident. *laugh*. My insurance company told me I was covered for everything, even if I just dropped it! hahaha Due for a new camera anyway!

 4.
Not getting an error screen, it just doesn't seem to acknowledge there is even a card in the camera as it just says, "no card" or "no memory card".

Someone on another forum elsewhere said it is probably the card, but I have tried several cards in both cameras and none work. Granted, I usually use the same card so the others have been sitting around, Not sure if that makes a difference. I am hoping it is just weak batteries, as I tried the same batteries in both cameras., but need to get some fresh ones to find out.

 5.
Checked that. It is still odd that this happened on 2 cameras all of a sudden. The card slot also looks clean.

PS, When the card is inserted while the camera is off, the small light on the back of the camera doesn't blink like it does normally after inserting a card showing that it is reading the card. Again, this happns no matter what card I try to insert into the camera.

 6.
Ok, been using these cameras right along and suddenly, today, I can not get either of my two regularly used K200's to acknowledge there is an SD card in them. Tried multiple cards. I then tried a card in my #3 K200D which I never use and it worked just fine. Are you kidding me??? The other 2 suddenly stopped working at the same time?
I think the batteries might be weak and I only have 1 set as I am out of extra batteries at the moment. Could weak or dead batteries be the cause? And if so, why did it work in the 3rd camera? A fluke?

Any help greatly appreciated!

 7.
curiously, the images looked a little (very slightly) out of focus but fixable in photoshop, but it was also VERY windy that day so many images even with the other body came out looking like that. However, as noted in my original post, the lens itself was also having problems focusing both in manual and auto focus mode. Same lens worked perfectly when I put the 2nd body on it. The focusing ring on the lens, while in manual mode was almost grinding and very rough to turn. But worked smoothly with the other camera body, thus leading me to think it's the body and not the lens.

 8.
Ok, Not sure where else to post this question but here it is anyway.
Was recently out shooting away from home and discovered an issue with one of my K200D's. I had my Sigma 120-400mm lens attached and noticed the autofocus was not working even though everything was in the usual settings both on camera and lens.
It was acting almost like the motor wasn't working and it would only make tiny moves and noises. Also, when looking through the viewfinder the image was clear but distorted when using manual focus, if that makes any sense? In manual focus mode the lens focusing ring was also not turning smoothly.
I removed the lens and put it on one of my other K200D bodies and everything functioned perfectly. So not the lens.
Any thoughts or ideas as to what might be wrong? PS, I did try changing the batteries in the non-functioning body but that didn't fix it.

Thanks!
9.
Thank you for your reply. I resized the image as suggested, and then did a comparison between 100% and "print size" in photoshop. Indeed the print size image is much sharper in most cases. I am now shooting digital but have been working on digitizing as many of my old negs as possible. Not doing it myself, but sending them out. Not a whole lot left but wanted to learn more before proceeding with another batch. As was typical of most 35mm negs, I know that some enlarge better than others. I'll be happy to at least get a good 5x7 out of as many as I can, knowing some will go bigger.

 10.
Ok, Not sure if I have the correct forum here but here goes.
I recently had some 35mm film negs (not slides), scanned in at 3200 dpi and although the average file size for the .tiff files is about 37mb the print size in photoshop is only a tiny image. I'm not a photoshop expert by any means so I am hoping someone can explain how to best convert these scans into printable images? at least to 8x12 perhaps? The images from these scans also seems to be alot more grainy than I remember the actual images to be. I'm sure this is due to the 3200 dpi scanning. Any way to clean that up a bit or is that pretty much a lost cause?
Any help greatly appreciated! Thanks!
11.
Ok, same laptop, same cameras. I have 3 cameras all the same. first time this has happened. Also, please remember I mentioned above that when I put the card BACK into the camera a second time it worked for all the test shots later on. Only the shots from the 2 previous days somehow are gone. No, I didn't format anything either. I am suspecting a bad card? Incidentally, I have since recovered all the files by way of a recovery program I downloaded. But the mystery remains as to why they weren't showing up when I inserted the card into the laptop card reader, which seems to be fine for everything else. including the test shots that were taken later on the same problem card!

 12.
2 days of shooting photos and for some reason the memory card in the wife's camera says there are no images on the card!? Yet we looked at some of them after she took them while the card was in the camera, so how is this possible? The camera works fine because I put the card back into the camera and it recorded 3 images no problem.

 13.
Looking to know if there is a teleconverter for Pentax K200D that will also work with Sigma 120-400mm lens for same camera. What's best?

There was one on Ebay (Sigma 1.4x DG EX APO AF Teleconverter Lens for Pentax)
but it doesn't list the Sigma 120-400 lens in its list of Sigma compatible lenses. It does however list every other Sigma lens!

Any help appreciated, thanks!
