  1. I have been looking around at the various "prosumer" 3 ccd camcorders

for a little while. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about

the Panasonic EZ-50, which seems very nice at around $1200. I

understand that Panasonic has also recently announced two more 3 ccd

cameras, one around $1500 and one at $1000, does anyone have any

information on those camcorders? Does the 1/6" CCD's make a

noticeable difference between other companies' 1/3" CCD's? Thank you.

  2. I have been looking around for a newer autofocus system to buy and

was about to purchase an Elan 7, when I came across someone who said

that older, manual-focus lenses with adaptors will not meter on the

Elan 7. They said it was just this specific body and not any other

in the Canon line. Is this true? Is there any way around it? I

already own a Tamron 300/2.8 Adaptall 2 lens that I planned on using

with the newer Canon. I already have an EOS-Adaptall adapter lined

up. Can anyone give me any information on this? Thanks.

  3. I live close to several raptor watches in New Jersey. During peak

migration times, many, many raptors are often reported. I have never

been to one of the watches so I don't know the specifics. How close

do the birds actually come? How clearly can you make each individual

out? Would I be able to get frame-filling images of the birds w/ a

600 lens? How about 400 (I know that is pushing it)? Are these sites

just for binoculars and spotting scopes? Thanks.

  4. Bob: I live in North-west NJ. I happen to live in a small township, not even enough population to be called a town. About 15-30 minutes away from where I live is bear swamp. It is located in Hampton, NJ. I have not been there recently but last year there were 3 families of beavers living there.

What part of NJ do you live in?

  5. I live in northern NJ and there are many places that are not even a 1 hour drive from my house to get some great nature photography. One place you might consider is bear swamp. The swamp is a wildlife refuge. It is packed with beavers. If you are interested in macro and closeup work, they have some of the most interesting little critters you're ever going to see.

  6. I am wondering if anyone knows of a type of underwater housing for a small, manual camera with a 35-75(not a zoom lense, anything in that range of lenses) lense? The camera is a Yashica or Chinon. Also, if could I take a picture with a camera and a housing not underwater (example: shooting somethink above the water)?

  7. I am planning on shooting birds, mostly smaller birds. I live in NJ and every year a pair of orioles comes to a tree in my yard. Well anyway, what would be the best lens for shooting those and other birds from 50-200 feet? Thank you for all your contributions.
  8. I would like suggestions on cheap, low-priced, equipment for a beginner. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. If at all possible could someone throw-in some suggestions on shooting the ocean? I plan to try and shoot pictures of the ocean. Again, all suggestions are appreciated.
  9. Hello,

I have a lot of pictures at my house and I'm waiting to find out where to sell them to. I know i am going to get rejected at least 90% of the time. I feel that I have a couple quality pictures. Thanks to anyone who posts here for spening their time helping me out.
