I guess it is because the netherlands as a whole lacks contrast and is dull colored :-) What you see is already a substantial improvement over the original file, I felt that adding even more punch would not do justice to the original scene as I saw it.

Interesting idea, but there is too much material in the front of the image and what it is framing is blown out. Looks like you used some "auto-metering" that gave the correct exposure to the foreground even though in this case the background is what should have had the correct exposure

It is extremely hard to present this photo at a size that does
justice to both the scenery and the person in it.

DO you mean not sharp or shallow DoF?

Borders on pornographic. Good balance!

Sometimes I am just amazed (in a surprised kind of way) at the
outcome of certain combinations of lens, film speed, aperture, etc.
This was one of those moments...

Colors vivid, not sure about composition

by stepping to the left the phone might not have looked like it's on the wall crooked. otherwise a fun photo

Nice facial expressions but too much clutter in the background

Keep or delete??

Some cropping but not much. I think the photograph speaks for
itself. What do you think??

Had to make do with what I had at the time. No flash, low light,
slow film. Had to over expose the "pink" part to get more detail in
the rest of the image. Does it work?

A calm sea harbingers peace and stillness, so hard to find in this tumultuous world of ours.
I see only an invitation to await the parting of clouds in this photo which will break forth the light of a new day!
