  1. Tony, quite a long time since I've commented, but the colors really caught my eye on this.  The green REALLY punches.  Intimate capture of the people as well.  Makes everything really work.  If you could've set things up a little different, maybe take out the jetski and push the other boat back a little.  Otherwise great.  Cheers

Thanks for the comment, and really points out an issue I had with this image personally.  I found that I liked certain elements and had a hard time cropping to balance the image, since I always felt the woman leaving the scene was awkward.  But at the same time, cutting the foxtail out on the left, meant less material to fill....but as you say, artistic intent.  I did make another of the same playing a little with the coloring to make it pop even more, shown below.  Cheers Tony.

  2. At the risk of repeating others good comments, there are two elements that I think makes this image work so well.  A) The right amount of blur and detail of the water; I think if it were any slower or faster it wouldn't live up to the title of rushing...this certainly does.  The texture of the water is superb in my opinion.  B) The red element.  Not sure what would cause the red element naturally or artificially, but the color play induced by the smallness and delicateness of that part of the take really makes the blues and yellows work hard to round out the image.  Truly well done my friend.  One of your better pieces of work.

  3. Tony, I like your version too.  Makes a nice background play.  Also lightened up the duck a bit.  This photo is a little old.  Probably one of the first I ever put on photonet back in 2007.  It was taken at the New Orleans zoo.

I can't judge on the other shots you took, but I really like this one.  This is a classic shot that you see in books on how to take portraits.  Great focus, clarity of soft colors, an expression that is really subdued.  I like it, congrats.

Tony, you make an interesting point about the yellow.  This what my camera picked up and this is a constant challenge while shooting in northern chile.  The sunlight is generally so harsh during the day, its difficult to get 'normal' colors.  We suffer from a lot of UV light and this is turn makes the photos look a little different from what we remember them to be.  I do like your muted version.  The yellow looks ghastly.  Cheers.
