  1. I used to have that lens, used on M2 and M3 I had in those days (30 years ago?), and <loved> it -- incredibly sharp and very rich in contrast. I have still those negatives of Xhosa people I photographed in Transkei and they are gorgeous...

I always thought it an under-rated lens.

    My paltry .02 worth!

  2. Lex, thank you for the reply: it is a black M4-P, serial #1549010 -- no idea what date of manufacture that makes it. The viewfinder window is countersunk and not flush, like the M6. The camera has no scratches or markings on it -- I'm not a collector but I do take great care of my things! Bayonet-mount is scratch-free and even the baseplate is in "good nick".

Thanks everyone for the info regarding nipples (red, not pink)!

  3. ...that show lens alignment to bayonet -- you all know the ones. Where,

please, does one buy them and how are they correctly described? (I'm a newbie

    here).

I own two rangefinders (and one R): does anyone have an idea about market

value for an M4-P in really nice condition? I think of selling this, as I

also have an M6 and don't think I need two bodies any more.

    Thank you in advance,

    Christopher
