1. I frequent a number of other forums that allow unlimited editing of a post and only on rare occasions does the edit have any confusing effect on the entire thread. Most times the person adds a post to clarify or correct themselves anyway. I think it's poor judgement to force everyone not to be able to edit when only on limited occasions would it be a problem.
  2. I find the site to be slow, very slow. When it first came on, I complained bitterly and was banned for a month. It hasn't improved much since I've been back. I used to be on it every day, if not more, but now I barely get here once a week.

  3. I find the new site to be slow all the way around and as best as I can tell, it hasn't improved to any noticeable degree, despite posts that it has been improved. I used to be on this site everyday, if not more often, now I barely go to it once a week.
  4. When I first encountered the new interface, without any warning, I vociferously complained and was banned for over a month. When I came back, I found very little was different, so now I rarely login anymore because I don't find the site appealing, it does not draw me in, and having to login so often is absolutely ridiculous, makes not sense what-so-ever, no other site I frequent does that. BTW, can we delete our account?
  5. I had two F2 Photomics from the early 1970s to mid-2000, when I decided to go all digital (especially because I had become very adept with my Macintosh handling photos). They were great cameras, literally built like tanks, nothing ever went wrong with mine other the wafer battery needing replacement. That being said, I love my two D300s bodies. I've only used the Nikon service facility here in Los Angeles, which is now three minutes from my home. {Sorry to sidetrack your thread.)
  6. I too find the new site cumbersome and unappealing. When I complained bitterly the first few days after it was dropped on us cold, I was banned for a over month. Now that I'm back, the presence has not improved, and having to constantly login is a pain. I've designed web sites so I have experience with interface design and efficiency. I don't judge PN 2 design to PN original, I compare it to other sites built on the same engine and PN doesn't measure up. (If Glenn reads this, I might get banned again.)
  7. Hey, I just found this thread. Glenn, I assume you've read all my complaint posts. Someone locked out my complaint thread on the Nikon forum, which really got me riled up. I've designed web sites and I absolutely don't understand how anyone could have decided to implemented this new interface was with so many bugs and problems. This interface comes off as if it's a preliminary presentation, certainly not a working site.

I also just noticed that my complaint thread on the Nikon forum was redirected, not locked out, but the redirect arrow does not work so I didn't know it was moved to here.

  8. GPalm, how about addressing all of our issues instead of posting technical jargon and statistics. Anything to be said to all of the rest of us with complaints about how badly this interface has been implemented? I certainly haven't seen anything "coming alive" in the last few days, my patience is non-existant.
  9. You'd think they have tested these things before going to production.

Looks like they never testing a thing, just dumped it on us. And I'm definitely going to keep complaining, which I've done directly to them, but not a whisper back, which makes me feel I'm being further ignored. Does not feel good at all.

  10. I can get around the 15 minute limit by adding another post, but this interface sucks. Seems to me with the introduction cold like that, someone should be replying, weekend or not. But then judging by the choices made, it's like whoever made the decisions doesn't care if it works, they just dumped it on us and took off.
  11. I added the br codes but when I clicked Post, the space was not there, the br codes were. I then went to a different site and back to here and only then did the paragraph spaces show. Definitely not ready for prime time. How about giving us back the old system and take some more time to beta test this using the feedback we have posted.
  12. I don't mind change if it made sense and is ready for prime time, this sure isn't, it's like a prototype site, not even a beta level. I had to login again and my paragraph spaces are gone.

Benefit of the doubt is one thing, but this a lot of doubt and very little benefit.
  13. I just tried to edit and I got a message that the time limit of 15 minutes has expired. I'm getting ready to tell Photo.Net to shove it where the sun don't shine and I'll find another forum.

I sent in a complaint earlier today, no response, and I notice that none of the moderators has shown their face here, I wonder why?

  14.
Yesterday I checked B&H for D500 refurbs, they had some, two bodies, two 32GB XQD cards that included readers, plus trading in my two D300s bodies, the total cost was just over $3100, but I didn't have the funds. Today the refurbs are gone. Have to wait a month and hopefully more refurbs will show up when I will have the money.
