As good as boat photo's get. The shadow details from the leading edges of the sails and lines adds so much dimension, the light at that time of day shows so well the warmth of the mast colors. Great sky and land background adds even more detail, plus the smaller boat astern is a nice little addition to help show the size.

Is that the Zodiak that sails out of Seattle, Master a gentleman named Carl, (or maybe Karl?) If so, I've had the pleasure of being on it, but not underway. Very nice work, Bruce.

This to me is a positively brilliant photo, the terms that come to mind are emotion, light, contrast and depth, some mystery added as a little something extra. I'm strictly amateur, so not qualified to judge from technical standpoint. I realize that some things move certain people in certain ways, this photo has done just that for me.

I doubt had I been there, that I would have envisioned the scene as you did, hence it may not have occured to me to attempt to capture it in an image. But capture the moment you certainly did. For lack of a better term, it's just very moving. Thanks for the pleasure of enjoying it.
