How do you take photos on a pure white background without the cameras white

balance compensating for the white making it grey? I have a Nikon D40 and a

small tabletop studio and Two lamps. I would like to know what I need to do to

take pictures of subject on a white background without it turning out grey and

having harsh shadows.

I have recently purchased the sb600 for my d40 and as I understand the d40 is

capable of using the creative lighting system, and these sb600 speedlights can

be used off camera as a wireless flash.

My question is can the speedlight work remotely for my camera.
