My great uncle used to play banjo for the visitors to Mabry Mill a long time ago. Great capture!

I like the angle. I'm well familiar with the intersection of Main and Field Sts. Very good Italian place there on the corner.
-
Very touching and poignant. 6/6. I can't believe why someone would give it a 3/3.

Entrance to a nightclub (now closed) in Dallas.

Ah, yes, Steiner Street...
I agree with Theo. There's too much foreground in the shot. I would prefer more sky. Maybe rotate the image a little to the left to bring out the angle of the hill and also bump up the saturation a bit to bring out the colors of the houses.
Here's an example of what I'm talking about. Almost the same exact angle of your shot as well: Alamo Square, San Francisco, California, USA.

This image was originally captured on 35mm ISO 400 color film. I
scanned in the photo and edited it to remove film grain, adjust the
color somewhat, and crop it to what you see here. Please let me know
what you think.
Thanks!

Nice clear image of "Big Momma," as some of my Ukrainian friends have called her. I see she's being used as a cell phone tower now.

I love what you did with color. Very surreal. The background almost looks like a painting. Great job!

"Sidewalk Judge" is one of several bronze statues along Main St. in
Grapevine, Texas.
Ratings are welcome but I really want comments about what you
like/dislike about the image.

I think you did a good job. Brightening up the background to bring out the musicians adds quite a lot to the overall effect. The background is quite grainy and noisy but that's due to the high ISO you had to use I'm sure. One other item, the lamp on the right is distracting but it's nothing that a little Photoshop work can't fix. Overall, I really like this image.

I took this on a trip to Irkutsk, Russia in August of 1998. We were
waiting for the fog to clear so we could take the hydrofoil up the
Angara River to Listvyanka on Lake Baikal.
Please view larger. I scanned this from a photo, desaturated, cropped,
edited out dust/flaws, etc.
Please do not just rate the photo but provide your comments as well.
Thank you!

The night before I took this photo was almost perfectly clear. The ranch is 45 minutes away from the nearest large town so there's no light pollution so you could see thousands of stars. I may go ahead and post a couple of pictures I took of the stars so you can see how clear it was. The stars pictures aren't that great since my camera's max exposure time is 15 seconds.

Great shot, Al!
Mabry Mill will always be a dear place to me. My great uncle Ed used to play banjo there with some other gentlemen for the tourists. He was even featured on one of the Mabry Mill postcards.
Thanks,
Keith
