I look at a LOT of photography. In fact, I even teach it. But I seldom have time to comment. I had to with this image, which truly is one of the best photographs I've ever seen. The only criticism I would have is that the use of a grad/ photoshop has left the reflections lighter than the mountains, but that keeps the eye in the centre of the photo. Beautiful colours that I can believe were an accurate representation of what was actually there. Thanks.

I'm looking into entering a competition with three categories;
lifestyle, documentary, portraiture.
I can enter one photo for each category; would love to hear which you
think I should enter!

I love this one, great technical skill to balance the lighting and drag the shutter long enough for the light trails to record perfectly. Fantastic use of colour too.

Inspirational.

Apparently the gnomes remain below the 50m mark...
Great photo of a damned hard lake to get to! A b&w conversion could be quite intriguing...

Lovely, fantastically executed. Pleasant balance between the warm and cool colours.

If this is unmanipulated, you live in a beautiful country, and have done a stunning job of capturing it. Your timing for the two figures is fantastically precise.

I love the composition of this, it's incredibly precise. However, you may have benefited from taking several bracketted shots in order to retain highlight detail by merging them later on.
Also, I found, rather too late, that stopping down past about f16 on a DX-format DSLR results in diffraction, which noticeably softens the image.
Have you tried converting this to a more contrasty monochrome image? It may work well...

A very capable use of HDR - I presume - but I would prefer to have a little more detail lost in shadow in order to tell me what I am meant to be looking at. I imagine that the lighter area further up the river could be the main focal point, but at the moment I'm also looking at the rocks in the foreground, on the left and the tree - which all appear of similar tone. Simplify, and do the thinking for me!

Marvellous portrait, and great use of a full range of tones. It may be possible to crop in tighter in a portrait format cutting out the superfluous empty space on the left hand side - the environmental decay is immediately evident behind her anyway. Question; how do you coax expressions like that? They do make great photographs...

Great Photo, I like how you've set less colourful subjects against a colourful background; I found the window at the top of the building by their heads distracting, however.

I liked the idea of a bricked up Hole-in-the-Wall; it reminded me of a
dried up spring that previously nourished life and growth. Closed bank
branches are one of the tangible effects we, as photographers, can
show in our work. Here, the lady begging for change becomes a
metaphor. Or at least that's what I hope...
