I ll check thanks ;)

Well I dont know the price for rolleis, synars, their lenses and backs. I think where I live the easiest is getting hassy, phase one and leaf (not sure if they are the cheapest options...)

-

As there are Hasseblad and Phase one lovers, there are all kind of opinions about which is better in IQ in the net.
But keeping IQ apart, both have an interesting feature.
Hasselblad has the True Focus wich should be fine for fashion and beauty photography and Phase One has is able to syncronize at 1/1600 with their leaf shutter lenses, cool for outdoors...
I am a digital 35mm photog. so I ve never been able to syncronice above 1/200
Which of these features do you find more useful in the real world?

Thanks Tim
I will keep you updated with the results

What Im doing now is firing 2 vivitars from behind of the background (a white fabric) trying to emulate a Hilite
background of Lastolite.
Then I try to separate the model as much as I can from the BG as I dont have a lot of space in my studio-home.
Perhaps the light sources are not wide enough and I dont get a full blownout BG (And Im trying not to use PS)...
I will find more difficulties when I go into the full body shot

Hi I tried to get a pure withe background in this portrait:
http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-16536247-young-woman.html
I only got a hotspot in the background with a vivitar 285hv fired from behind the background and then I edited
the photo to get a full withe BG.
Any advices to isolate an objet or a person without photshop?

During the calibration process, do you have to adjust the monitor controls (contrast, brightnes...)???
With the apple cinema display in a pc I can only adjust brightness.
Is this a PROBLEM?
-
260?
Ebay:
Eye one display 2 pro 208 usd including shipping (spain)
spyder3pro 198 usd
-
Patrick, I wont install Vista in my new computer by the moment. I ll run xp pro so I suppose it wont be a problem with any of the two calibrators.
So it is a price question now... isnt it?
-
Anyone with this configuration (cinema display + pc), wich calibrator do you
use. I know about spyder3 and eye one display. Is one better than other??
-
I am in the same situation and Im going to buy the apple 20" but in a PC you dont have full control because screen changes are done via software with the mac os.
Hope I can calibrate well with a Eye One
You also have the Nec multisync 20wgx2pro with s ips panel but there are bad reviews because of the bright of its glossy reflective screen
-
I found a 20" monitor that are quite afforable with s-ips panel:
philips 200WP7ES
nec 2090UXi
nec 20Wgx pro
Do you know them???
-
Andrew, where can I find the 2490 for an affordable price. All I have seen is 1300usd
-
Hello.
Im looking for a good monitor for a new computer.

Last time I shot with hotlights was with soft boxes very close (clampshell setup). Noise rally starts to disturb at iso400 in dark hair in my camera (400d) and at f5.6 with a canon 50 f1.8 I cant get the back part of the hair in focus (almost with autofuocus or quick manual focus)
-
I find that ebay shop Gadget infinity has many of these vivitars. Anyone owns any (with canon cameras)
-
I heard not every Vivitar 285HV work well... What I dont whant is to spend the money twice.
How much ttl type flashes will you need to have plenty of light to shoot 3 o 4 person full lenght portrait?
I have 3x 1000w continuous quartz lights and they dont give me enough light for a headshoot. I must go to ISO 400 to reach f5.6 and I cant deal with the results.

Hello.
Id like to upgrade my hotlights I use for object photography. They havent enough
power to shoot people and also they arent too combortable because of the hot.
As I am not a pro I cant go for a very expensive equipment so I thought in two
options.
Compact flashes with radio triggers (as the strobist way). Dont know if its
enough power to shoot group of people.
Studio strobes (I heard Alienbees is a good option). It isnt very comfortable to
go outdoors with this strobes and a powerkit. Is it? What about power
recomendation for these strobes? 400, 800, 1000 ws?
Im quite lost.
NOT another Phase one vs Hasselblad question
