  1. I just added it on my camera a week ago. Since i use long and heavy lenses (70-200 is f2.8, 100-400 is f 4-5.6), it helps a lot balancing the camera and it gives it an excellent grip both for vertical and horizontal shots. My opinion is to get it. It is worth it.
  2. Hello Charles,

My prime body is the EOS5D. I own both the 70-200 2.8 IS and the 100-400. The first one is a perfect lens, the second a very good one. The use of the 100-400 is much more limited than the 70-200. I have found that some pictures of specific subjects, taken with the 70-200, served me much better than the 100-400, after a cropping and enlargement.I find myself leaving the 100-400 at home much more often than before. After all a 2.8 is a 2.8! I would go for the top quality and flexibility. The 70-200 2.8IS is, by my humble opinion the right choice for this body. At your disposal for any further clarifications yiu might need.

  3. Mike! I own a 5D and the battery pack is almost always on my camera. But i take a lot of vertical shots and it was helpful to me only because of the extra buttons, for these kinds of shots. Also my main lenses are a70-200 f/2.8 and a 100-400 f/4-5.6, so i find the battery pack helpful in balancing. If you do not shoot vertical frames, or your lenses are not to long or heavy, as my countryman Savas said, spend the money on lenses!
