1.
Thanks everyone for the comments.

Jeff, I scanned the film with a cheap Epson flatbed scanner. Getting cameras into Canada is not a problem. The reason you probably had problems getting a camera from Canada was Canada Post's poor service.

Raymond,

I brought the film and developer from Japan. Legacy Pro 400 is Fuji Neopan 400. Super Prodol is only sold in Japan.

Louis,

Thanks for the offer on the Vivitar, but no thanks. I am going to sell the Konica Autoreflex A and the 52/1.8. I need the money more than a camera.

 2.
Hi,

This is my first post from Canada. Canada has slim pickings when it comes to classical cameras in comparison to Japan. Sellers in Canada want an arm and a leg for beaters! It seems no one on buy/sell website Kijii does any market research to really find out what the real value of their film cameras and lenses are in today's market. Sellers write "I paid 500$ thirty-five years ago for this outfit, so today I want 400$. Price is firm!" I just shake my head thinking that the seller is going to wait a long time to get what they want.

Other than having classic camera withdrawal my move home has been up and down. The move for my family has been great. My wife and kids loved the snow and bitter cold of winter. It has taken 5-months for daughter to master English. She is now bilingual in Japanese and English. I just shake my head in awe!

However, the move for my career has been the pits. Locating work hard been an arduous affair. My hometown is a one industry town that has been hemorrhaging jobs for over twenty-years. It was quite startling to come home to find that closed plants and huge empty toxic fields of former industrial land. It just seems like urban industrial blight. I discovered whether Canada or Japan towns and cities on the periphery eking out an exist.

Though the photos depict heavy industry I still find there is beauty in the design.

Photos taken with Konica Autoreflex A and 52mm f1.8. The lens astonished me. I was very surprised at the IQ.

I hope everyone enjoys the photos. Film used Legacy Pro 400. Developed in Fuji Prodol at 20C at 7-minutes.

 3.
Tony,

These photos astound me in contrast and sharpness. I should have never sold you those lenses. I should have kept them to myself!

I am happy you put them through their paces. You had been harping about testing in the forum for sometime. I waited and waited, but gave up waiting!

Again great post.

Thanks,

 4.
Sorry, for so many photos, but this is my last post from Japan. I am sad to be leaving, but it is time to go home. I wish I could bring all the wonderful cameras I have used with me, but sadly I do not have them anymore. I only have my Canon AE1 with a nFD 50/1.4 left. I kind of want to sell it and start all over again in Canada. Anyone want to make an offer?

That is all from Japan.

Mike
