  1. I'm thinking of getting a used DV camcorder and mounting it to my

glider. I might not be able to access it in flight. My question is

can these things be turned on and locked for extended periods without

user input? Flight time could be anywhere from 30 minutes to over an

hour. B&H has a couple Canon ZR-85 in my price range. Any ideas or

suggestions. I know absolutely nothing about video...yet.

    Thanks

  2. All is not lost. If you have the paperwork to prove yourself you are covered even if you have spent six months trying to resolve this. Call them and request their merchant number. Tell them if they don't try to resolve this you will contact your cc company, send them the information and request a chargeback on them. Chargebacks stay on a companys record and it makes them look bad to issuing banks. Kind of like when you don't pay load debts on time. If you did this enough it would be hard for you to get another loan from any bank. They have no control on crediting you if the cc company see's in your favor. It will be deducted from their account by their sponsoring bank and it will go on their record. Too many of these on a companys record can cause them to be dropped from their bank. If they cannot find another sponsoring bank due to past history then guess what, they can accept no more credit cards! Never give up on something like this. Deal with THEIR boss, the cc company directly.

Have all your ducks in a row and good luck.

  3. Yea, me neither. Do you think if I bought a camera that had a simple push button IR remote and extended the LED by re-wireing the thing it would work. I could tape or mount the LED in front of the camera sensor and have the button mounted up front. I had this brainstorm last night. Now, can anyone suggest a camera for under $300 bucks with a simple remote control, and that takes more than 2 AA batteries. Thanks for any help.

  4. I'm looking for a digital camera that has a wired remote control. I

do not want an slr camera. I'm wanting to mount one under the wing or

keel of my hang glider and an infrared remote might be a pain to aim

while flying. Any suggestions or ideas on how to do this?

  5. I am going to purchase the Canon 300f4 IS soon but I'm a little confused about the "Gray vs. U.S.A." market thing. From what I've read here at this forum and on the net I believe it's just a warranty issue. If Canon will honor a gray market lens the same as a U.S.A market lens why would anyone pay several hundred dollars or more for the latter one. Has anyone here had any experiance with this particular lense in the gray mkt. version. A rep. from Canon told me the lenses were made the same. I find it hard to believe there can be more than a thousand dollar difference on certain lenses due to a warranty issue. Thanks for any advice.
