If realism is the goal I would darken the underside of the pier a bit, but overall I think the goal of realism and expanded range is achieved

That's very nice! I played there when I was on the road with KISS in 1980, and I had not seen something to remind me of it since.
We debuted a two new guitar effects at that show as I remember.

This is the singer for a band called Signature. Taken with Nikon D1
and 80-200 2.8 lens wide open, ISO 1600, under stage lighting. The
blue background is the overhead lighting diffusing in fog from on-
stage fog machines. Outdoor performance.

This is a hand held image taken with my D1X and 80-400VR lens,
handheld. I watched them quite a while for a pose like this.

It has been very hard to get the right combination on these rides - a
dark enough sky for the lights to show up, while still bright enough
for good sky color.

This was taken at the 2000 Eastern States Exposition. Lace Country
is a Canadian country group. I liked the expression and pose of this
image and would welcome feedback from viewers

blue tent) plus fill flash. Manual exposure, 28-80mm 2.8 lens used
wide open.

I think the colors are nice but I'd suggest correcting the building's tilt in Photoshop
