1.
Thank you so much for all of your help guys. I checked through all of the sites everyone gave me on here and that people e-mailed me. They were all of great help. I am sorry I have not responded sooner, but my lovely internet provider cut a main line, and my entire area has been out of internet since Wed morning. Luckilly I was already done with everything. The funny thing is that I never thought of anything about this until it was brought to my attention. I feel like this has sparked a great intrest to see what I may be able to do with all of this. I will be sending you a e-mail Jack, cause I am definately interrested in playing around with some things. I will definately try to keep you guys that are interrested in what I might try to do in future up to date on what I'm doing, or what I may be able to accomplish with this project. Everyone else in my class thinks I am crazy for taking on the extra work. I call it being passionate about trying to help others do what I love to do so much. Thanks again for everyones help. Below are a few of the links I received that held me out greatly for people that may be interrested in checking some of them out. One cool thing that was about a stand to attach to the wheel chair was sent to me via a pdf file, so if someone is interrested in that, you can e-mail me.
2.
Wow Kevin! That was an amazing source, and I have yet to even wade through all 72 pages...lol. I will definately try to look through it more tonight and tomorrow. I know I looked online some and didnt really find a whole lot. What I did find was a photographer who is a paraplegic who I have had an e-mail conversation with about a couple of things. It really does feel good and makes you want to find out as much information as possible when trying to work with combingin a couple of things you love. I love photography, and I love helping people do the things they enjoy in life, which is why I decided to get into occupational therapy. So thank you sooooooo very much for the help as well as the support.

  3.
I recently decided to go back to college where I am currently going full time for Occupational Therapy. All of this while still pursuing my dream of doing photography for a living. Well, in calss today the professor finally gave me a case study to work with that was right up my alley as far as being something that really intrested me. Our patient in our case study is a C6 tetraplegic (paraplegic) and we are supposed to come up with ways to adapt photography so that he can still do it from his wheel chair, etc. I came up with the idea of, what better to do than to try to find another photography lover who may be in this situation to give some pointers, ideas, and advice. The paper is due this Thur, so I dont have alot of time (if you read this after that and can still post, please do!...my professor has asked me to share as much as possible, even if it's down the road!). So if you or someone you know fits this criteria, please respond back! Also, if you have any photos of equipment that you have bought, manufactured, or seen that would be great too! If you are disabled, but not a paraplegic, still feel free to share your experiences and ideas! There may be some things that could cross over to this case. Im really looking forward to finding out more information on this to combine the two things I love; photography & therapy! Thanks so much for your help!
Shawn

  4. I looked at collages.net, but I wasnt overly impressed. Well, it wasnt bad, but for the price I feel like Ive seen better for less money. Lifepics is only $50 to start and like 15% of profit, but Im not sold on it either. Right now I think with the volume I am doing percentages are the best way to go. Not totally sure, but just what Im thinking.
  5. Chris, Im sorry that your browser does not have a convenient little button at the top that says favorites where you can click and add a page. However like I said previously, this has nothing to do with my site. So unless you plan on having photos done by me, you would never see this page anyways. It is used for previewing of photos by MY customers. The only thing this will have to do with my site is that there will be a link from there to get to it. My site has disabled right click now, and I nor has anyone else had a problem adding it to their favorites.

Anywho, I have checked out alot of these sites, and I like some...some are a little pricey for me right now. Im only doing 1-2 weddings a month right now. I was still wondering if anyone knew about Lifepics at all. Havent heard anyone say anything about them yet. Kind of surprised me cause I though alot of people used them. Thanks for all of the help!

  6. Chris, disabled right click does not keep you from adding a site to your favorites. Secondly, its not my actual site anyways. It would be a page that you as a consumer can go to view photos that I took at your wedding, or what ever event of yours I shot. The disabled right click disallows you from being able to save the photo to your hard drive and then printing it from there. Thanks for all of your help so far guys. Keep the ideas and advice coming. I really appreciate it.
  7. I am in the process of looking for companies to use as a proofing site. I would

like for them to be able to proof their pictures and order them through this

site. Watermarking and disable right click would also be nice. I know you have

to pay percentages to these companies, but 20% seemed a little high to me. I

have asked a couple of photographers I know from other areas and they say they

reccomend Lifepics through Wolf/Ritz Camera and one told me they reccomend

Instaproofs.com. Im just looking to get some opinions on what some other people

are using, and if you use one of the two I said maybe a couple plusses and

minuses. And obviously if you are happy with going through them. I really

appreciate your help. I know there are alot of these companies out there. But I

want to find one that provides not only good service and interface on their

    site, but quality prints.

  8. Ok, so I was in your spot, and still really am. Just shot my first wedding a couple of weeks ago. Ive done other photography previously, but not weddings. Got alot of flack on this forum for not really being willing to spend the "big" bucks and go with a high dollar opperation. Fact is...Im a photographer on a budget. I bought the XTI and love it so far. I also got the Canon 50mm f 1.8 and didnt use it at all. I think it would be a good lens for set up shots, but not during the actual wedding itself. A fixed lens makes things ALOT more difficult. I pretty much only used my other lens wich is a Sigma 28-70.....Nice cheap lens. All my photos turned out great. But Ill tell ya...spend the money on the flash. I didnt beleive everyone, but after using it I agree. I got the Canon 430EX flash. I bought all of my stuff new off of amazon.com for less than $1200 and that was with a case, extra batteries, CF cards, etc. Ive shot with both Canon and Nikon, and still prefer the canon. I am however looking at getting an old Nikon D1h as a backup. But, trust me...the XTI is a good start. In a few years when your getting $1000 a shoot....then look into a 20D or 30D or whatever the new hot camera is. But till then stick with the XTI.
  9. Thanks for the great advice everyone. What you say makes alot of sense David. Although it has been a little while since working with the D1H and all, Im sure the use of and fimiliarity of Nikon might help in learning. If thats the case, it poses another question. Is there really that big of a difference between the 8mp of the 350D and the 6.1 of the D40 or D50? Or shall I even mention the possability of getting a Nikon D1x at 5.3mp? Like I said, Im still learning all the technical stuff, but the familiarity from a D1H to a D1X would be very nice. I just dont want to limit myself with the 5.3 vs. 8 if it makes a large difference in enlarging photographs. But with the D1x all I can find is used, and I know thats a whole new touchy subject...some people dont mind it, and others are 100% against it. Let me know what you think about that.
  10. Well, the bride and groom are on a serious budget and cant afford a "professional" photographer. I mean, seriously anyone on a budget cant afford that. In our area the cheapest quote they got was about $900+ Im looking to get started and need some practice and they know this. They are willing to let me give it a try since without me they were just going to have nothing anyways. I understand its not something that will be learned over night, but you have to start somewhere. I am very ambitious, have some camera usage experience. I just dont know alot of the technical stuff, and that is what I am trying to learn. I have a very good "slr type" (minolta Z6) camera that I am used to, but I figured I could get alot better images out of an SLR. That is why I am looking to speed up my purchase of an SLR system. But like I said...they are broke, its me or nothing...and I have to start somewhere, sometime. So any advice or help is appreciated. Wish me luck.

And to answer your question honestly Mike...no, Im not ready. Im nervous as hell. But like I said...they are broke, its me or nothing...and I have to start somewhere, sometime. 12. Like I said, I just need to get started first. Didnt say I was going to continue using this rig. I just need to be able to get through my first couple of shoots with the kit lens if possible. I didnt realize how expensive the flashes were until now. That is why I was trying to find out if the kit lens would surfice for now so that I can get a flash.
  13. Im new to the wedding photography thing. Ive been doing live concert

photography with an old canon 35mm camera (A1 I think)Anyways, I have been

looking at some entry level dslr like the canon 350D or the Olympus E500. I

have been told the lenses that come with it would be horrible for wedding

photography (Tamron 28-80mm f/3.5-5.6 Autofocus Lens and

Tamron 75-300mm F/4-5.6 LD Macro Autofocus Lens with the Canon) or (ZUIKO

    DIGITAL 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 and ZUIKO DIGITAL 14-45mm f3.5-5.6 f3.5-4.5 with the

Olympus) Is this correct that these lenses would just not work for

weddings....or could one of them work just to get me started. I am starting

with a very minimal budget. I need to be able to get the camera, lens, and

flash I need for around $800 or less. I could possibley acheive this via ebay,

but who knows. If none of these lenses would work....houw about the Sigma 28-

70mm f/2.8-4 I would really like to get by with one of the kit lenses for now.

Especially since im still working these weddings for free just to get my

portfolio. Also if you could throw some good, but wallet friendly flash's my

way I would appreciate that. My first wedding is in two weeks, and I have to

buy everything! It is outside and will be in the evening with the sunset behind

us....great potential, but I need to be set up right. Thanks for the help!

  14. I am new to the whole SLR thing. I have messed around with some Nikon D1 and

D2X but never anything else. The place I worked had the Nikons. I am looking

for a good camera with an affordable price tag to do some weddings, and

possibly to start doing some studio portriats. I also like to do alot of nature

shots as well as live concert photography. From what research I have done it

seems as if the Canon 350D and the Olympus E500 are probably my best two

options. Am I corect? Ive been told that the Nikon accesories can get

expensive. And this is part of what I am looking to take into consideration. Is

there aftermarket products (lens, flash, etc)regularly available for the camera

I am going to get. Also I have talked to a person or two about lenses and I

have been told the lenses the E500 comes with are little too wide to use for

wedding photography. The E500 comes with the 14-45 and the 40-150 lens...the

Canon I am looking at would come with a 28-80 and a 75-300 lens. Like I said,

Im all new to this, and any advice would be great. Im still new to the

technology, terms, and mechanics of photography. But thats why Im looking for a

    starter not a D1, or D2...lol. Thanks.
