Check out the 300 2.8AFS VR It is a little more than half the cost of the 400 a lot smaller and I have been told with practise and good technique it can be hand held. At worse a monopod. And with the 1.4 you would gain 1 stop over your current set up.

Bruce you are another self indulgent shallow person that believes that whatever you are doing or creating is the only thing viable. It is obvious by your ratngs that not very many images meet your high standards. I looked at your images on your site and I am not impressed. Just because you captured the images with large format camera's doesn't make these images are any better than the images you degrade here. I am sure you aren't impressed with my images either but to think that people shouldn't submit images that they feel important because you don't like them is rediculous and shows no tolerance for others. If you think your work is so good , submit some for critique if you have any balls.

I am new here also but my take on this is that some people feel that if thet give a 3/3 rating to someone else's it will make theirs look better. I don't do anonymous ratings, I click on the picture and rate and leave a comment (sometimes) I also don't rate images that I don't understand. I shoot travel and landscape and don't feel that i am qualified to rate nudes, etc. so I mainly rate and comment on images that I feel are in my area of expertise (that as it is) Don't take the rating to serious it will drive you nuts, while we all like to get high ratings it is a fact that no matter how good your image is their will be people who downgrade it.
