  1. I am going to try the tennis wrap first. All your ideas were good, but I'm looking for cheap (nearly free) and not too bulky. There's only about 1/2" if space when the legs are closed, so I think pipe insulation would get in the way.

     

    The zip-on and velcro-on solutions are nice, but a luxury.

  2. I really enjoy shooting in cold outdoor locations (National Parks,

    while backpacking in the snow, etc...), but the legs of a tripod get

    <b>really</b> cold at anywhere near freezing. I am looking for ideas

    for wrapping the legs with something to protect my hands. Companies

    sell legwarmers for this, but there must be a simple solution for

    this...

    <li>least bulky solutions preferred

    I'm using a Bogen carbon fiber tripod.
