  1. Same question here. Anybody?

Figured it out: Credit to Phil

Method for downloading your images (in original posting size) from your My Library section:

    To download your own photos:

    1. Go the My Portfolio page: Photo.net - Where Photographers Inspire Each Other
    2. Go the Link for My Library in the Left pane for navigation and click on it: Photo.net - Where Photographers Inspire Each Other
    3. That should give you a full page of your images. Keep clicking on the "Load More" button at the bottom of the image list until you find the image you want to download.
    4. Hover over the image and note the "Download" link that appears at right bottom corner of the image. Click on the download image and you will start pulling down the original size image (large) you uploaded That's it!!

  2. I was also looking around for a used 40D. I found that the prices were too close to a new one.

Best option right now is to buy new with 28-135mm IS kit and then sell the lens which the going price is $350.00

I bought with the 28-135mm but now decided to keep the kit lens as a great walk around lens.

  3. Sorry not a question but thought I would share this tip.

I do not always travel with the Manual for new camera and may need to make

reference to the manual. If there is access to a PC I will be able to view my

manual as I keep a copy of the Adobe manual on my CF card.

  4. Thanks,

On second thought I am beginning to have second thoughts as looks like a Flea Bay scam.

I used the BIN for the same seller for a 70-200 L 2.8 IS but I am now suspicious that it is not real.

Got an immidiate eamil asking for Western Union..

  5. Hope others will find this information helpful.

On a tight budget for a wider angle lens, I did some expermenting.

Bought a quality Olympus add on Wide Angle lens ( WCON-08)on Ebay for $10.00

and a step-down ring 58-55 and fitted to the Kit 18-55 lens.

This gave me a 0.8 reduction in focal length.<div>00L6Qo-36470784.thumb.jpg.1b9f5ed87f4fb898c2a9331ed8865b8c.jpg</div>

  6. Just noticed that on my new XTi the camera does not beep when the exposure is

locked. I have checked the menu and the beep function is on.

Camera workes perfectly otherwise. Question is, do I send it to Canon to be

repaired and risk something else going wrong after being opened by a repair

person. The beep function is not all that important.

    Thanks

  7. As I said this is a great Forum... Fantastic information.

Putting all the information gathered here, I have narrowed my decision to 70-200 F/4 L IS

I forgot to mention in my original post that the plan was to sell the 70-300 I already bought and replace it with the L series.

sacrificing the 2.8 for the f4 will leave me with some cash towards a prime lens.

Thanks again for all the suggestions.

  8. I am migrating from my Olympus E-20N to Canon and have so far bought the 400D

    with kit lens and a 580EX. I also bought a 70-300 USM III f:4-5.6.

I have been giving this some thought and I have decided to slow down on buying

a bunch of different lower end of the scale lens.

I plan is to buy one great lens this year and hopefully can restrain myself

from buying another. My interest are mainly landscape and people photography.

Maybe I will indulge in some sports photos.

With this in mind and shooting for the best bang for the buck, I would

    appreciate any recommendations.

I am thinking along the line of a EF 70-200 f/2.8L IS USM. The weight would not

be an issue after lugging around the old faithful Olympus E-20N with the TCON

    300S and a TCON 14B attached.

Any thoughts of what might be an alternative for best bang for the buck

    considering my use and budget.

Thanks .... This is a fantastic Forum

  9. The seller sent a very quick response allowing me to back out of the deal.

No transaction completed but I certainly would not hesitate to buy from them in the future. Now we will never know if the flash was of any use after all. Guess I am better off just shooting for the 430EX and be done with it.
