The SMUDGE!
in Nikon
I was told its dust on the actual sensor :( So now im going to have to dish out money to have it shipped to Nikon or find some DIY solution. -

Im not taking a scrub brush to the mirror or anything. It gets dusty and I gently wipe it off. Its barely showing up on a white wall im using for tests. Seems like it shows up darker when I take a picture of something in a dark area. -

I promise I read the FAQs and thats why I knew it wasnt anything to be afraid of. I also read I could clean it myself but I figured I would ask before I put anymore elbow grease into it. NO CLUE how it got there but I am guessing its snot/spit from the night before while I was cleaning the mirror. -

I know there are topics on this but is it normal to get a smudge on the sensor
so soon? Its only been a month and I only have one lens(18-70mm). Ive tried a
wet cleaner and dry and still no luck. I know its a sensitive part and ive
been super careful but its getting annoying.

Well after all the reviewing I decided to head out and purchase the Olympus. When I get to Circuit City I look around and find an Nikon D50 (open box/display). Sooo I ended up with the Nikon and it came with a 18-55mm lens. I kept telling myself 8mp is better but I was really impressed with the photo quality of the D50. I hope im not kicking myself in the long run for going with 6mp instead of 8mp.

I can handle no auto focus so that doesnt bother me too much. Im still learning the manual parts of dslr. I will most likely get this camera. I plan to save up for a nice digital video camcorder later down the road. You guys are of great help!
-
Whats makes this camera a starter? Not that I dont trust you guys but I am wanting to go with something that I can do wildlife photography and my abstract photography. Those of you that had the E-500, is the included lens made of glass?
-
That was a really good review on the camera. So many people are on the Canon/Nikon band wagon and its hard to find a true review.
-
Are any of you using this dslr? I am concerned with photo quality obviously
but I also want to know I can resell it at a later date without any resale
value issues.Ive been told that no dslr camera offers a view of the photo as
you are taking it, is this true?

Thank you very much for your help!

So are you guys saying you can mount the lenses backwards (with an adapter) for extra close up macro shots?
-
Oh and is it silly to think of using this camera professionally?
-
Haha I didnt say im looking for a lens called P3 Macro! I know what camera I have I just want to know what macro lenses I can get. It was something like this. Excuse my ignorance I know nothing of the slr accessories. Is there not a macro lens that screws onto the tip of a regular lens?
-
Whoa didnt expect anymore responses. Mine seems to be overexposing as well. I may try to compensate as well cause its really annoying. Do any of you have blur issues when not using a tripod? It really is a nice camera. Im going to sound like such a noob about this but when I see the numbers flashing inside the viewfinder I adjust up top and still get wacky exposures. Can someone explain the A-KA on the macro lens? Does it have something to do with distance (I assume).

Hello everyone!
-
Im new to the slr cameras so yeah I am kinda going backwards. Anyone else
using this older camera?
-
I just did a search on Google for Pentax P3 macro lens and nothing comes up. I did a yahoo search as well and no luck. Are you sure they will fit or you assume the K macro lenses will fit.
-
Has anyone come across these lenses? I cant find any articles saying that a
macro lens exists.
