  1. This is one of the funniest posts I have read in a long time. Mr. Carlier, welcome to PN. This is the meat grinder, the Thunder Dome. I agree with Eric, "if you want to get noticed, find a buyer and get to work selling." These are photographers who have seen it all. In other words, it's a tough crowd.....Oh, and of course what Lex said :)

  2. DF, I am afraid you may not be able to salvage your lens. It has always been my understanding that when Mr. Fungi arrives he is in essence the grim reaper. If you are seeing hairy like spider webbing inside your lens, then, I am afraid, it is time for hospice. Exposing you equipment to sun light for a couple of hours or so a week is more of a preventive measure than a cure. I hope you are able to rid your lens of the fungus. I live in fear that some day I will be in your shoes. I live in a very humid climate. I keep all my gear in a small room with a dehumidifier running at about 45-50 percent humidity, this seems to be working for now....:)

    Good luck,

  3. Fred is exactly right. If you are shooting digital then "technically" you have manipulated a photo. When you shoot in RAW then you must post process. I think the problem we have is there are a lot of people who do not remember the film days, they do not realize the darkroom was were photos were made not a computer. Professional film photographers would spend hours in the darkroom perfecting their photos before emerging with a work of art. Or they would spend hundreds of dollars for a professional lab to do their work. Now, is this photo manipulation? The point I am trying to make, is, we now have the darkroom on our computer, we no longer have to pay big bucks for a pro lab to develop and process our photos. Do you think those wonderful photographs in Nation Geographic for example, were straight from the camera? If so, then I have some land along the river denial for sale, cheap.
  4. Fred "The answer man" Goldsmith.......Thank you for answering my questions. Very helpful, you are right it could be anyone of the 5 scenarios you have stated. I think many times people get their feelings hurt with a low rating and retaliate. Thus the vicious cycle continues. Once again thank you Fred.

  5. Where I tend to agree with the thought "Who cares if you get a 3 or 4"..I must point out one thing. After submitting a few photos for ratings, before I could return to the page that shows your photo, I had two "3" ratings. How could two people rate the photo, with any rating, in less than 5 seconds?. You know when the submit page redirects you back to your photo? In the time it took for me to submit and then return, I had two "3" ratings. How can this be possible? My photos had not even been posted in the ratings forum and I had two ratings.
