1.
Nikon has announced the AF-S DX NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens, which is the first fixed focal length, fast-aperture DX-format lens that affords photographers superb image quality along with the creative possibilities and versatility of the classic 50mm focal length (FX-format equivalent of 52mm). When mounted on a DX-format camera body, it enables photographers to document their world with a lens that produces a picture angle similar to the field of vision as seen through the human eye.
The AF-S NIKKOR 35mm f/1.8G lens is scheduled to be available in March 2009 at an estimated price of $199.95 .

00SOVf-108931584.jpg.3efb5350354faf6ecc65349c0b5d781f.jpg

 2.
Olympus has announced the SP-590UZ - a new Digital Camera with 26X optical zoom and 10 frames per second continious shooting ( full specs ).
Do you think we need the 26x optical zoom and 10fps? Isn't it time to stop the megapixel/zoom/fps race and pay more attention to image quality. It's good to see the technology evolving, but I'm already tired of all those pointless upgrades to compact cameras.

 3. I've had the same problem. Twice. The first time was in very bad weather - 8000feet, rainy, extremely humid. The second was on a sports event after 2000+ frames constant shooting. I don't think it's abnormal. Like Jim Strutz said: this is a computer with lens. If it crashes 2 times a week it's not OK, but 2 times a year is not something terribly bad ;)
