<p>I work for a University where I scan slides to be projected during lectures. We scan them in at their actual size, but use a very high resolution, usually about 2000 DPI. We also save them as TIFF files. Im not sure if you are trying to project that large.</p>

Are you on a mac or PC? On a mac there is a program called Automater that can determine which side is longer and crop

accordingly. I'm pretty sure that it works with photoshop too.

Ok I just hooked the scanner up to my older computer, the results are the same, this problem looks like it is limited to the scanner.

I have been using the Nikon Super Coolscan 5000 to scan in 35mm slides to my

mac. I recently upgraded my mac and hooked up the scanner which was working fine

before. Now however, when I scan in an image, it will look fine on the preview,

but when I actually scan it in, it appears all washed out and gray. Im posting

an example of what my scan comes out to and what the original looks like.Has

anyone had this problem before? I have tried playing with the setting for hours

but nothing seems to help. Could someone please help me with this? Thank You.<div></div>
