Pistol grips are a bad design, get a good ball head that can pan.

If you want to get rid of your DSLR's and lenses for a point&shoot then be my guest, and while your at it why not also trade in your Porsche 911 for a Ford Focus!

The bottom line is IS lenses work much better than in body IS! When it comes to the DSLR format don't even try to get me to look at anything else other than Canon or Nikon.

Thanks a lot guys, your answers have been very usefull, i'll look into fotomagico and soundslides.

Personally I almost never use the strap on my neck, I much prefer to mount it on my shoulder instead, there seem to be many camera support systems available these days that help put that weight off the neck.

I'm interested in using Keynote for creating a slideshow since Proshow does not have a Mac version, my questions are can I import music from a CD, can I time each photo so it's in cue with different segments of the imported song, does it have a zoom in/zoom out or Ken Burns effect as some people call it and can I transfer the finished product to a CD or DVD? any answers would be very usefull, thanks

I'm finally getting an Epson R2880 printer this week and I need to know which glossy and pearl finish paper I should get, wether if it's paper from Epson or another brand I'd like some suggestions, Thanks.

Thanks for the input everyone, I just tried firing the flash through the white unbrella with the black cover off instead of bouncing the light off the interior and I am getting more power that way but for my next shoot I think I'll just rent a studio flash head instead.

I have recently begun to use my speedlight flash off camera and mounted on a light stand with a white umbrella to light my subjects, when combining it with outdoor light it works ok but for indoor shots it seems to lack power, using the same flash I assume that by using a silver umbrella it would certainly reflect more light from the flash, what about a small softbox? or should I just bounce the flash off a reflector or through a diffuser to get more light from my from my unit?

Hi Summer, color space remains the same from the camera to LR to PS and to print(adobe rgb) photos are all shot and processed in raw, I'm thinking my problem happens when I'm done processing a photo in LR and then I export it to PS, in the process of exporting the image it is converted to PSD, maybe this is where my problem happens, I'll have to check exactly what I'm doing next time I export. Thanks.

when I'm done processing a photo in lightroom and then export it to photoshop I notice that the histogram always indicates a just slightly higher exposer than what it was in LR, does anyone know what's going on here exactly?

I have just recently tried some plug-ins from Nik software and alienskin which I think are really great, I was wondering if anybody could recommend some other interesting plug-ins that can create and recreate all kinds of photo effects and artistic renderings, thanks.

Get the Sigma 50mm F1.4 EX DG, it's has to be the best 50mm after canon's EF 50mm F1.2L, it costs a bit more than the EF 50mm F1.4 but the higher price is money well spent, the image quality is way better when shooting wide open.

Thank you very much for the info.

I am concerned about nightclub and concert smoke machines, while shooting a show in a club I was very close to the smoke machine when it went off and I was completely enveloped for a few seconds and since my DSLR body is not weather sealed and neither is the lens that was on it should I be concerned about the smoke leaving some kind of thin deposit on the sensor and the optical elements?

Thanks everyone

Hi Bob, I've never had any white balance problems so far that I've noticed while using UV/
haze filters, which I use as protection filters on all my lenses, but the "tech" guy at my local
camera shop tried to tell me otherwise, but that could of course just be his opinion, thanks
for the response.

It has recently come to my attention that using a UV/Haze filter with a digital camera can throw off the
white balance, I would like a valid opinion on this matter, thank you.

Thanks guys.

the raw files from my canon rebel XT/350D can't be opened in photoshop CS2 and in Bridge, do I need a
plug-in or a download to correct this problem? I really need advice on this matter, thanks.
