1.
This last post was the most helpful. I odered one from KEH with my fingers crossed that I would get an early lens. Rick's description of which have the concave front element has eased my mind. I DID order the correct one. It arrives tomorrow!

At heart, I think I may be a RF kinda guy. But. I just regained some of my fascination with my old FD cameras, an AE-1 and 2 EF's (one broken, the other is not) (and I just tagged an A-1).I own the regular 50/1.8's and a 50/1.4 and a 24/2.8 that are all Canons and all pretty decent. In fact, the 50/1.4 is simply amazing, fully equal to my LTM 50/1.4 Canon.

Re-reading my draft post, I'm seeing that I guess I have a lot of questions --

A couple of years ago I spent too much on a Kiron 24/2.0 that is just not sharp at all wide open and I am now tempted to get the Canon 24/2.0 - will I get more sharpness and an end to the "glow" that the Kiron gives me? Is the Canon 24/2.0 much superior to the 2.8? I'm hearing conflicting opinions and need to get a better idea of what I should do.

I do have a Canon 35/2.0 in the mail and on its way to me, so I'm wondering also about a 28mm. I do own an ancient Quantaray 28/2.8 that hasn't been used since the 80's. I don't recall if it is any good. If not, should I fill that space with another Canon, or am I over doing it with WA lenses?

My Tokina AT-X 28-85 zoom is a beauty that I like a lot despite the fact that it is a zoom, and therefore heavier and bigger than I like. I'm thinking that though it is rather slow and bulky, it might fill that 28mm gap for me, plus allow some nice macro capabilities. What do you think?

 3. There's no color in this photo, period. Not sure what Auto color was expected to do? I played with it by adjusting gamma, adding contrast and applying unsharp mask. It looks a bit better, but there is a scratch down the near center of the shot, running vertically, as well as dust spots. If you want my version, I attached it. Or you can follow my steps, and get better results, I imagine. You just need to spend time with the healing brush in PS.
