1.
Thanks for the responses. It appears that there is no simple fix. I am actually amazed that from what I have seen of CS4 or Lightroom there is not a feature to do this. You would assume that every single photographer will at some stage need to supply a client with a host of images on disc. With file sizes growing all the time I'm surprised that Bridge, Photoshop, Lightoom etc don't have a simple feature to do this.
I'll have a look into Nero Back it up and search on. Maybe a few letters are in order.

  2.
I was wondering what people do in their workflow to put final images onto DVD for clients. Often I find I can be providing 30+ GB to clients and I need a simple system where I by I can select the files and have them then burned across multiple DVDs. I'm sure I am missing something as I have been doing this manually which is a pain in the rear.
Any ideas ?
I work with Lightroom, CS4 and I have NERO on a Vista 64 System.

PS The only thing I could see with a simple easy to find option was Picasa and that naturally hit an error and spat the DVD out.

  3.
I really hope it all works out for you and you get the photos you are happy with in the end.
As a photographer and one who covers Weddings I fully appreciate and understand the importance of getting the images, the memories you want and receiving a 'professional' service throughout the process. The photographic business and especially Weddings is a difficult business and quite clearly there are some out there who are just not cut out for it. Alas in this day and age some see it as a route to a quick buck.
If anyone is reading and you thinks that maybe you fit the bill then do the industry and the public a favour and pop down the job centre.
I know things work differently in some countries regarding legal issues etc but I would urge you to ensure that if you can review any service providers shoddy service provision then you do so, so others in the future can make a fairer assessment of what they might be getting themselves into.
Good Luck.
NB. Only bad photographers take bad photos.

  4. I am currently putting together my branding and site and need a temporary,

password protected means to host clients work so they can easily proof it.

Can anyone recommend such a site, (paid or otherwise) ideally one that offers a

simple bulk upload facility, possibly drag and drop and is user friendly. I have a

Flickr account of old but don't want to fill that up with reams of pack shots and the

    like.

Any help greatly appreciated as I have to act quick !

I haven't yet decided on what mechanism I will use on my site so if one thing can

do both then that would be handy. Ta.

  5. I read in other threads that some Circ Pols are physically unable to deliver

the right results at wide angles. I'm looking for 77mm filter to use at 16mm

and was wondering if there is one that offers better results.

    Thanks

  6. I keep getting asked why I need one. :) I am experimenting with a variety of coastal long exposure effects and time constraints mean I can't always be there for the right light. I'd like the option of slowing things down in brighter light and also trying some very long exposures for cloud effects and the like.

Thanks for the heads up on how they are produced as it goes a long way to explaining why this niche market (i.e. just me )hasn't really been covered other than by the screw in types. I've seen this evening they do an ND 100, ND 400 and rumoured ND 1000. The 400 lengthens exposure by 400x. Drastic but possibly fun, the stronger stuff appears only to be for astrology purposes.

Some really super stuff on your website.

  7. I am currently using the Lee Filters system which although pricy is very good

indeed. I am after something in the region of a 10 Stop ND Filter. I know B+W

do a 77mm screw in but ideally I'd like the flexibility of a drop in that would

work with my Lee setup. Does anyone know of anything at all ?

With a 10 Stop being so dark I'd like the option of sliding it up and down when

composing as they are very hard to compose through. I'm aware of doubling and

tripling up but by doing so I lose sharpness and gain dusts etc.

    Cheers

PS I can't always be where I need to at the time I need to and this will allow

me to long expose in brighter light. ;)

  8. I am in the process of acquiring an AMD AM2 64 6000+ ,4GB RAM system. My

simple question is which OS should I opt for to ensure the best performance

within CS2 ? I read that 32bit versions of Windows won't fully support 4GB ram

so must I aim for a 64 bit product and is the new Vista 64 bit going to do the

trick ? I'm happy for a change and am using mostly brand new equipment so

shouldn't have too many issues with updated drivers.

Any help would be much appreciated.

PS Processor and Gigabyte Mobo M59 are bought so please don't advise me to go

with an Intel Dual Core ;)

Vista Ultimate 64 Bit ? Or maybe XP Pro 64 Bit ?

  9. I've been offered an Imacon Flextight Precision II very cheaply and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them ? I hear they are second only to drum scanning in terms of quality. This one is a SCSI interface.

    Specs

CCD Single Pass Optical Sensor (3x6000 pixels)

Dynamic Range of 4.1 True DMAX - Nikon claims they have 4.1, but not even close. Read any reviews on an Imacon

Scans 14bits per color or 48 bit RGB and 56 bit CMYK Color

True optical resolution from 72dpi up to 5760 dpi (No Interpolation)

Scans Transparencies or Negatives from 35mm to 4"x5" to 12x17cm

Scans Reflectives of 1mm thickness up to A4 sizes (220x 310mm

Also I've seen a couple of MINOLTA DIMAGE SCAN ELITE 5400s for sale on Ebay. I wonder whether the Imacon still holds it's own against a newer Scanner like the Minolta ?

  10. I was hoping someone might point me in the right direction of the right

scanner for scanning 35mm B/W Negs ? I'll be doing Prints, Colour Slides,

Colour Negs too. I understand that some of the cheaper scanners I've looked at

like the Canon 9950F will not do B/W Negs or I have to convert them after

scanning. Ideally I'd like to have the option to chose what I'm doing up front

    to save time.

Budget would be ?500 ($1000) or less. Something fairly quick would be handy

too. Is it cheaper to buy two dedicated machines (One colour and one B/W) ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
