Every picture is supposed to tell a story. After you hear the story,
I hope this picture does it justice. Let me tell you a story about
Riggs. Riggs is an 8 year old Malinois, who for that last 5 years
has served as a police dog protecting his city. Riggs has found
millions of dollars worth of narcotics, found criminals hiding, found
lost people when no others could, and his favorite job being loved on
by hundreds of school children. Riggs has worked in the bowels of
his city in the dark, most of the time with only his handler by his
side. Riggs has been fearless and relentless in the face of evil.
In times when even his handler was scared all it took was the warm
nudge of his muzzle and the look in his eyes, and his handler knew
that no matter what Riggs would get him home. Riggs worked for the
love of his handler. Riggs has grown old and is having to face the
fact that he has slowed down, grown a little weaker, and that it is
his time to enjoy just being a dog. Riggs is now. having to watch is
handler go to work with another partner and wondering if the new dog
will do the job as well as he did and bring his handler home safe.
So here is Riggs looking over his city, standing in the middle of the
evil and his handler and the people who live here, most of the time
asleep and unaware of how he made them safer.

Great shot and a very different picture of a butterfly.

Marc, doesn't look like you need anymore comments, but it's one of those photographs, I just gotta say something about. But, I can't seem to find the words, it's absolutly amazing. You were one of photographers who's work I fell in love with when I started looking at this web site before I signed on. Your work is amazing. Keep it up, give us beginners something to shoot for.

Yazid, if you thought I was being sarcastic with my first comments, I apologize. I love the picture and I thought it was great then. A few days ago I had my first chance to try and photograph a hawk just flying. I realized just how hard they are to photograph, and I have a greater respect for this picture now, if that's possible. Again I apologize if you thought I was putting your picture down.

Comments Welcome.
Not a posed picture, just got lucky that my daughter stepped on my
son's footprint.

I don't think I'm someone to tell you how do anything better, however I'll tell you what I like. I like the detail in the sky and the woods, the color and light is balanced, not to bright, but bright enough to see detail. I like the dead end road in the shot (at first I wasn't to sure about it). To me it shows how we just keep moving, we can't seem to find time to stop. I think it is a well done photo, I've tried this a couple of times, and if I got results like this, I would have taken more.

I love it, Im sure someone will bring up the fact that what ever was dropped is cut off, but for me great shot, great timing. And this is the real world, not a zoo, where you have all day to get the perfect shot. Very good picture, great color and detail, and I love how everything is frozen.

Love yet it makes me sad. Great picture I can feel his disappointment.
