Cool Dorus! Looks like a Smooth billed Ani, a Snowy Egret, and an Orapendulum

obviously, you know your (tropical) birds very well, Douglas. You're quite right. The Orapendulum came up in my search as Crested Oropendola, which is probably one and the same.

I first came to know these birds by their local names ie. Kawfutuboi, Sabaku and Ponpon.

  2.
some more birds from Surinam, all taken with K3 +sigma 50-500mm :
10.
hello Yury
as both being frequent posters on the POTW I feel a 'duty' to criticise your latest entry.
don't want to hurt your feelings, hope this will help you
you like the woods obviously, but the first 2 have no subject. It's chaos and unpleasant to look at. The third is fine except that it's painfully overexposed.
I suggest you find some professional or a club to look at your work.
cause you really seem to enjoy photographing and that's a thing to be cherished

  12.
I'm looking with a keen eye to the bird-shots, Douglas. I wil be travelling to Surinam soon, bringing a 50-500 sigma.
Not sure if I'll be able to upload, as I'll be travelling off the beaten tracks.
Wishing you all happy photographic hunting, and hope to be back online next year.

do you mean Indian or "Bollywood" dancing? Hindi is a language.

Anirban : technically you may well be right, In my personal vocabulair I use 'hindi' as an adjective covering anything hindustani or indian.

hindi-dancing. Indoor event-shooting is obviously not my expertise, like the above demonstrates.
Still, we spent a wonderful afternoon with lots of really good vibes :)
15.
well I'm rather ignorant about hardware & software as well as the science of photography. However, I do miss proper autofocussing, something I was painfully aware of yesterday while shooting an indoor dancing party.
Still have plenty material left when 1 in 10 is sharp enough. These are from earlier in the week:
17.
PP was done with silver efex plugin. Picture was taken at a art-exhibit in which I participated with photo's.
The wino 'model' was party-crashing and hence didn't care me taking pictures of him.
I had brought a 40mm pentax lens for shooting portrait, but got carried away and shot all with my worst lens, that sigma 18-125mm (not 135 like I said before)
