  1. I guess most of you have not seen a quality video??

I'll be the first to admit there are plenty of poorly

produced wedding videos out there but there are as well

some very talented shooters & editors in the industry.

How many horrible DJ's or bands have you come across

and people pay for their services don't they?

Every vendor in the idustry has its share of amateurs

    and experienced people.

  2. No Incompetent vendors, huh? If you believe that, fine.

Ever work with a DJ that killed a party cause they

did not program it correctly? Training is great

but what good is training if they don't get it?

I know plenty of video people that went to film

school, been in the wedding business for years,

and still turn out a final product that looks

like garbage. But they are working almost every

weekend. Why? Cause they know how to sell it.

  3. $1400 for a Hi-Def Camera? A decent standard-def camera will cost you more if you want to do weddings/event type work. And just to

add about your decision of getting involved with video, all the

software programs you will need to purchase & learn to deliver

the final product: ie, editing software, audio software, DVD

authoring, etc. I think most photographers concern themselves

with one program only & that's Photoshop.

  4. Hi,

Thanx all for your responses! I checked out Adobe Lightroom &

seems this is exactly what I am looking for. My only concern

is can it utilize a dual monitor set up? Like I said I wanted

to use a laptop for editing & output the slideshow to a full screen crt monitor. And my other concern is since it is in a Beta stage

right now are all the controls fully functional?

    Thanx again,

    S.G.

  5. Hi,

I am looking to display images via a photomontage at wedding receptions.

I am looking for a program that will allow me to use my laptop to

correct/crop my images, add/delete images from my slideshow, & output a full

screen slideshow on an external monitor for guests to view.

Anyone doing this type of display at wedding receptions & what software

program(s) are you using? I am using a PC laptop btw.

    Thank you,

    S.G.
