    Chris,

Thanks for the comments. I agree. I have had these negitives for many years and am in the process of restoring them. I plan to post as many as possible. It's good to see this kind appreciation for an era that paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today.

    Thanks again,

    Robert,

Besides his rank in the US Navy durring WWII Dad was the ships

photographer. This is a shot taken of him in 1943. The photos on the

wall was his 1st wife. Go Dad!

    Scan of a B&W 8X10 @ 600DPI, dust and scratches cleanup and a little

    sepia added.

This appears to be a scan of a poloroid but the actual photo in the center is to perfect in shape. It looks as if it was placed thier on a seperate layer. As far as the overall composit goes I would give it more credit if it is what I assume. The aged affect of the shot gives it a 1970's look. Good job.

You have an interisting concept going here. try using either more symetrical or more sentual poses where they are more closley intwined. This one needs a closer crop off the top and right side.

This is Gordon, a friend of my father. This photo was taken by my

father with a 3X5 camera in 1945. Scanned in at 600dpi the image is

unchanged except for some dust removal from years of storage and the

frame and text layers that I added. No color correction was

    necessary.

    Juan,

    Thank you for your comment.

Let me try to explain something to you and anyone else that is interested.

The posting of this photo and subsequent photos that will be posted in this series are not intended to spark a debate over the war in Iraq or any undertaking of U.S forces abroad!

As for your statement: Those troups are killing people abroad. why to suport them? This is a disrespect itself.

I would think that any time young men and woman are placed in harms way regardless of there nationality, they deserve the support and respect of there countrymen and woman they volunteered to protect and defend.

This is simply my way of showing that support and respect.
